Catching up on the Week....

Tuesday was a red letter day for us!
We went over to help Jesse and Rachel move into their new 'forever' home!

Look at Rachel's cute shoes!
She took this pic on Wednesday morning after their second night in this amazing house!

We drove over around noon on Tuesday and toured the house for the first time!
This house and property is amazing and I will take more pics later.
You will be so impressed with their back yard - and deck - and landscaping!
Jesse is chock full of talent from stone masonry to painting to carpentry to anything you can think of.
He can do it ALL! And now he has a lifetime of projects in front of him and he could not be happier!

I didn't take a lot of pics but this chandy in the bathroom is all class!

I love everything about their new home!

Oh, my!
I would SO love to take a bath in that tub!

Louis Dean and I wanted to be a part of this adventure and we wiped down all the cupboards and closets....

His long arms enabled him to get to areas I could not.

Chicken Express for six!
We met Rachel's mom for the first time and she is a beautiful person.
It turns out that she worked for my sister, Nita, when she owned the Haynie's Grocery Store with her then husband, Bob.
Jesse and Rachel met online and yet they have a family history and didn't even realize it at the time.

When Jesse bought his very first house, he found some treasures underneath it....including some books.

This is a vintage 1940 copy of Gone With the Wind and Jesse gifted it to Louis Dean.

He was so happy to get this and will treasure it!
We plan to read it aloud after we finish our current book.
LD has fond memories of Gone With the Wind when he was a young boy selling newspapers.
He never saw the whole movie until 2009 when we were flying home from Scotland at the end of December. Jesse flew us first class and LD watched the entire movie for the very first time.
There we were in first class and when the movie ended - he jerked his headphones off and hurled himself down the isle to where I was saying loudly - "That was WONDERFUL!"
All the high class FIRST class passengers got a big kick out of his excitement!
It was kind of a Beverly Hillbillies kind of moment.

Wednesday was our appointment with Dr. Shadad - his neurologist.

He is such a good sport!
Louis Dean does NOT like goimg to the doctor - any doctor.
But I am grateful that he WILL go and he actually had a good time.
I also think Dr. Shadah was encouraged that we are doing well and are happy and that Louis Dean still has a great sense of humor!

She added a new medicine that will help with his Alzheimer's.....
and we will see her again in 6 months.

We celebrated with a trip to Home Depot and then a late lunch at Cheddar's!
Of course he had country fried steak with lots of gravy....

I had my margarita and a salad and baked fish!

This fish may have been my down fall.

After such a good Day Date - we went home and took naps.
Alas, my stomach was rolling and I became violently ill from 4:00 -9:00 pm.
It was awful!!! Poor Louis Dean jumped in and took care of me as I was so sick and whimpering like a baby. By 7:30 I was totally dehydrated and couldn't even keep water down.
Enter my sweet neighbor neighbor....Stephanie. This was not the first time she has come to my rescue.
She brought me bananas, meds for vomiting and dirarrhea plus Boost and Pedialite and several meals for Louis Dean. It's a blessing to live next door to an angel!

No pics from today as I am in rest and recover mode.

Trying to find things for Louis Dean and I to watch....
Tonight I have Heartland on - from the beginning.
On season one - episode four......
but he cannot follow it so I am trying to look for something else.....

Oh NO, you poor thing!!! I can only imagine!!! It was bad fish for sure! I am so sorry and hope that this food poisoning is all over now and out of your system! Louis Dean is looking so good, and I am so glad there are new meds. The new house looks awesome, especially the big closets.

So sorry to hear that you got sick. How wonderful to have a neighbor that is so helpful. I can't see any of my neighbors ever doing that. They wouldn't even know if I was sick.

Can’t wait to see more pictures of Jesse and Rachel’s new home. RHill, TX

Oh no....Bless your heart!! I do hope you are feeling much better, and thank goodness for good neighbors that can come to our rescue. Not sure anyone would be ready for this next sentence.."I have never seen Gone with the Wind!!" I haven't! Lovely home and hope you will post more pictures.

Well, what started as a happy post ended badly. I'm so sorry you got sick. I hate a stomach illness.
Jesse and Rachel's house sounds great, and I look forward to seeing your photos of it.
I hope you feel much better today!

That is so miserable to get so ill. I wonder if the drink added to the mixture in your tummy. But it's terrible to enjoy a good meal and then get so sick. Take care! Love the Gone with the wind story!

Jesse' s new home is wonderful. They will be so happy there doing the projects that truly make it theirs.
Lots of work but so worth it.
So sorry you have been sick. That was a rough one for you. Take it easy and recover completely.
Happy LD got a good report and praying you get renewed energy to keep moving.
Love the photo of you two at the Drs. You are so cute together.
