"Life is FRAGILE! Handle with PRAYER!"
By noon we are wide awake and busy! Today I freshened up the house and baked an angel food cake to serve with fresh strawberries.
Strawberry TEA made for the perfect beverage!
Louis Dean SO wishes I could play the guitar......or banjo or Dobro or ANY musical instrument!
When he took this picture of me he said, "Glad there is no SOUND!"
(Playing the guitar is not as easy as it looks!)
I tell you WHAT! These musicians sure played some pretty music this afternoon!
They thought so, TOO!!
They played an amazing variety of music ranging from several Willie Nelson songs to Josh Groban's 'You Lift Me Up' to Slim Whitman's old old OLD song - 'Little Arrows.'
I worked on my embellished cross stitch while I listened.
I have been working on this for TWO YEARS!
(off and on......mostly OFF!)
After the music jam session we took ourselves off to Home Depot to buy flooring for our bedroom.
We are STILL not finished in there but I hope to have it done by Thanksgiving.
We are slow at our DIY projects! But that's the only kind of projects we DO!
When we got home I checked to see if the Cowboys had won or lost. LD had recorded the game but didn't want to see if if they didn't win. Since they DID......that's what he is doing now. I am thinking I will sew a few strips of my denim quilt together and head off to bed with my book. I love to read for at least half an hour before going to sleep. Nice since it is raining and there is even a little thunder going on.
I have this little pillow beside my bed. It came in the mail yesterday form my daughter in law's mother. Her name is Linda, too. She and I both celebrate birthdays this week. She is so sweet and kind and thoughtful. The gift came complete with a card and handwritten poem. I think we often underestimate the power of pure and simple kindness. This reminds me of a quote that I shall try and remember as I go through this next week......
"Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."

Lovely day...and hope you have a wonderful Birthday Week Linda!!
Linda, I like the quote you used in your blog---" Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle". Could you tell me who wrote this?
What a kind, loving, musical, happy, peaceful, really great day you had. It made me happy just reading about your day.

I love music too, and wish I could have heard that session. This evening I did cross stitch too - always have a piece underway. Your day sounded beautiful.
Love that quote! It's so true. It's scary to thing about all those difficult battles that some people are going through and we must ALWAYS count our blessings when we're lucky enough to have good things going on in our life (no matter how small). Hoping we'll get some much needed rain too (here in GA). Maybe you could send that rain cloud over my way. It's cloudy today, so maybe it's on its way.
Oh I love it when the mothers-in-law are friends. I think of my daughter-in-law's mother as a friend. Sweet little pillow for autumn.
Your listening to the jam session reminded me of all the ones I have been an audience to through the years. They're mostly gone now, but I have my sweet memories.
I like the quote you used also. I also like your little cross stitch project. Okay Birthday week??? You're birthday isn't popping up on anything I have...When's the big day?
