Tuesday Treasures and a Visit With Brother Lonnie.....

Life is returning to normal for Louis Dean and me and I am so grateful for that.

I'm back to cooking nearly every day and enjoying it.

I've never truly loved cooking but I've been doing it since I was nine years old.
I guess it's beginning to grow on me and it's about time!

We had a string of fireplace weather and I kept the den warm and cozy for several days.
We are now back in the 80's so we enjoyed it while we could.

Louis Dean loves a project and he's good at organizing and sorting things.
The two drawers of plastic containers kept him busy for a couple of hours.

I had ordered a five pound box of walnuts a couple of weeks ago and I saved it for Louis Dean to shell while I went off to search for Tuesday Treasures with Brenda.

It felt good to be out and about and we each found a few treasures.
I love the earrings - brand new - and fragrant candles - also new.

It was nice to catch up with Brenda over lunch at Chick-fil-A.

The string of ceramic chilii peppers are so pretty!

We hit up two thrift stores and lunch and I was gone less than three hours, arriving home just as Louis Dean was cleaning up his room after finishing the walnuts.
I'm planning on making some roasted pecans and walnuts next week.
Any one else tried this? I'm looking at recipes.

For several days our smart TV has been talking to us - using a very annoying voice.
I must have clicked a button by accident and I tried over and over to get her to quit talking - but nothing I did worked.

After I got home Tuesday, I was thinking of someone who could help me with this TV problem.

I needed a young person and it just so happens I knew one lives just two doors down from us.
Meet Grant, my new Tech Guy!!

Not only did he fix my problem - he also plays the piano and when he saw our baby grand.....

He entertained us with a mini concert!!

God is good and I am grateful for Grant!

I was up early on Wednesday as we were going over to Fort Worth to visit my brother and taking lunch with us!

It had been too long since we have been together and it was so good to hug and talk and laugh!

We had stopped at Burger Island on Story Road and I put the burgers, fries and onion rings in insulated bags to keep them hot.

I also brought four beers in a wine bag so they would stay cold.
Two for Lonnie and two for Louis Dean!

Lonnie's kitty is so pretty.
Made us miss our two cats since they have been at the Bells for a few weeks.

We sat out on Lonnie's screened porch as we ended our visit.

We will visit again next month!

Today I baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies and took a container down to Grant.
Louis Dean and I walked around the block together and that really took the starch out of him.
If we don't use it - we lose it!
We both agreed he needs to walk more.
As for me, I have returned to Classical Stretch with Miranda Esmond-White on a daily basis and it feels good!

We've been enjoying our bird feeder/camera and look forward to watching the videos to see if what birds had visited us.

I continue to take down Christmas, clean and decorate for the spring and summer season and I'm taking it slow and steady.

Now that we have working bathrooms and my stress is under control, we are going over to the Bells to bring our kitties home tomorrow afternoon.
I had underestimated how much Louis Dean was missing them. I should have figured it out since he asks me every single day - over and over - "When are we getting our kitties back??"
Finally I can say, "Tomorrow!!"

Having the walnuts for LD to shell while you went out with Brenda was a great idea.
What a blessing to find a young techy person to help right in your own neighborhood. He's quite talented on the piano

How wonderful to have a neighbor that is techy and can also play the piano. I, too, have a baby grand but don't have much time to play it...sigh....
I am so glad that you are getting your kitties back. Our pups really fill John's day in and keeps him focused on something besides himself.
I have been back to cooking every day now that John is back home. I don't love it but it is not on my 'hate to do it' list either. I do like to bake but shouldn't...lol....tooooo tempting.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, Linda. Hugs and blessings- Diana

Linda, I love all the good "feels" in this post. Love that you could visit Lonnie and that Louis Dean is enjoying doing all the projects you find for him.
Happiness is getting your kitties back to your home. I know LD will be thrilled.
Yay for your tech savvy neighbor and that the bonus was a mini concert. Win/win.

Yay! Samantha and Tabitha return! I think Louis Dean loves a lap cat.
How wonderful you have Grant! Seems we always have tech questions.
We haven't been doing much; Ed's lower back is bothering him a lot. I think his 'not using it is causing him to lose it'. He'll be 79 in April, and although his outlook is happy, his hips and back don't seem to get out of the recliner much.
Kristi and Kat came today and brought some homecooked meals. I think I'll have potato soup and a salad, while Ed has brisket! for supper We are so blessed to have Ed and Kristi!
Hope you have a good Sunday, and a great week. Love, Trudy

Glad the routine is back. I personally function best when I keep to my normal as much as possible. So glad to see Lonnie doing well. His face is much slimmer these days, took me by surprise. Your thrift finds were good as usual and we all need a Grant close by these days. God Bless, Luann
