My heart is sad....our possums are gone!
We don't know why or where they have gone but we miss them!
I really don't want to feed the rats and mice or any other critter but I do love feeding the possums!
I know they are gone because we haven't seen them in weeks and I even put out watermelon rinds - which they dearly love - and no response!
On the other hand, I would dearly love for the squirrels to disappear!
They rob our camera feeder and I have endless videos of those rascals!!
Louis Dean has been dreading cleaning our kitchen deck pond and Monday he tackled it and was done in less than an hour!
The dreading of a thing is most often harder than the doing of it!
Monday afternoon Louis Dean had his six month check up with Dr. Maddox.
His A1C is 5.9 and all his labs were stable other than his magnesium is low.
I ordered some on Amazon and he will take one a day for a month.
Tuesday was a good thrifting day!
I met Brenda at Texas Thrift at 1:00 and we shopped two stores.
I love signage and I hung this $4 treasure on the porch store wall.
C for Chapman!
I'll hang this canvas in the sewing room - the next room I'm cleaning and decorating for fall this weekend.
I love buying treasures out of season!
Next spring I will be so happy to see this!
Another treasure for next spring.
I found these awesome earrings just before Brenda showed me the Chico's top!
Win! WIN!!
Orange and black will be the colors for Harrison's hockey team this year and now I have a cool top to wear!
Brenda found this awesome Chico find!! Brand new and perfect for the winter holidays.
These Yankee air fresheners were just $1 and they make the bedroom smell delicious!
I'm counting down to September First!
Love fairy lights!
Super cool marble coasters....
perfect fall colors!
All brand new candles and all at half price!
Wednesday was such a good day!!
I love keeping house and all things homemaking!
I made a huge taco salad with refried beans, Spanish rice, guacamole, chips and all the toppings!
I invited Ileen and Summer for dinner and NUTS!
Summer is so much fun and bought ingredients for margaritas.....and rum for me to use in my fruitcake cookies.
Dinner was so good and we sat at the dining room table for our first fall setting.
No margaritas, though, and no NUTS either.
Instead we all sat in the living room and talked and laughed and had the best evening!
Ileen and Louis Dean were good listeners while Summer and I remembered so many funny things from our past and laughed so hard!
I have been quietly cleaning and decorating for fall ever since early July.
I get so much joy from all my fall things!!
Still saving a few traditions for September First....
This morning I had my one week check up for my right eye.....
all was well and when I left the office I decided to go to the closest Hobby Lobby!
Walking in the door and looking at all the beautiful fall decorations and breathing in the delicious fragrance was absolutely wonderful!!
Kind of like walking into Starbucks - only different!
I bought some new fall garlands and Summer came over to help me hang them on the front porch.
She is a natural!!

I love Hobby Lobby! Did you buy this pumpkin painting? Wonderful news about Louis Dean's checkup. He makes a great model! I have already started my fall decorations! It takes me about a month to do it anymore!
You always find the best things when you go thrifting. I was at Hobby Lobby yesterday. They have tons of Christmas stuff out already
It is so good to see your thrift finds and hear the joy in your comments regarding fall decorating! My once a year visit to Hobby Lobby is coming up and I know that feeling it brings...enjoy the time you spend at home....
I loved the photos of Louis Dean being your model for all your new things! He's quite the sweetheart! I can see why you love him so much! And I love all the fall things you are showing already...it helps me get in the mood...well, I'm always in the mood for fall, I just try to control myself until it gets here, but you are inspiring me to think ahead and get ready to embrace my favorite season, I may have to copy your September 1st tradition, although I normally wait until after Labor Day to start decorating for fall. At least you've got me thinking about it and anticipating it. It's been such a hot summer, thinking fall thoughts is therapeutic. Thank you for sharing your joy with us. It makes me smile. Glad your cataract surgery is over and you are doing so well. Hubby had his yesterday and we drive the hour back to the surgeon this morning for the post op appt., then again next Friday for the one week appt. My Dr. told me I could still wait a while for mine. That's fine with me. I hope you have a pleasant and beautiful weekend.
Love your fall decorations and glad Summer is able to help with hanging garlands, etc. I will wait a couple more weeks before I start taking down summer decor and putting out fall stuff. It is just so hot right now! Good doctor reports for you and Louis Dean. Stay cool and hydrated! RHill, TX
What great finds! Love those Chico tops. I haven't done anything towards Fall yet. It is my favorite season but I am holding onto summer as long as I can this year.
Glad your cataract surgery went well. I have to have my other eye done this fall.
I am happy that LD's dr visit went well. John takes magnesium every day because his is always low.
Happy weekend, my friend. Hugs to you-Diana
Good picture of you and LD.......I too am happy fall is coming.
You sure have a handsome Model there showing all of your goodness that you found. Looking nice around your place with all the decorating going on. This is a great photo of you and LD. Hoping we get some rain soon...Texas needs it..
You both had good reports at your check ups! Win-Win! Then you found lots of good treasure with Brenda! Win! Summer helped you decorate! Win! The four of you had a great dinner and evening together! Win! Doesn't get much better! Filling your tank with happy things!
That Man of yours sure makes a terrific model. I love his cute smile as he holds the treasures you bought.
Your home is going to be so comfy and cozy with all of the Fall decor. You do an amazing job decorating.
Summer is so sweet and I'm glad she is close by to help you too.
Happy to read of good Dr. reports with more to come.
(((hugs)))
Sue
You always find the cutest clothes! I went to one today...nothing to blog about! heehee!
Meant to comment also on your missing opossums. That is sad. They are very beneficial animals and the only marsupials I an aware of in Texas. They eat lots of insects and grubs. Maybe your neighbors trapped them? If so, Let’s hope they released them in a less congested area. RHill, TX
