Fritz Petting Farm!

This wasn't our 'normal' Quad Wednesday but I DID get to meet up with Amber and the kids at Fritz Petting Farm here in Irving. It first opened in 1970 and is one of the few places in Irving that hasn't changed much over the years.

All four of my children and now all of my grandchildren have visited here.

I love seeing the kids all lined up!
They were watching a lizard!

Here's the beautiful Quad Mom and her girls.
They took right up with these little goats!
I can't wait to take them down to the ranch!
My step son has goats, peacocks, ducks, geese, chickens, roosters, horses - you name it!

They were waiting to see the pony - he's 20 years old and may well be the same pony Amber saw on her last visit here as a child!

We petted all the critters and had a picnic lunch.

I'm glad I got to see the kids for a little while today!

Harrison wanted me to go home with him - but I had to get back to Granddad!

Monday night I overheard Kailey praying for him before she went to bed.

I was back home by 1:00 and we spent a very quiet day.
We watched 3 TV programs!
Have you seen Proof on TNT? It's a new show and we are enjoying it.
Thought provoking - even though we already strongly believe in life after death.
Then there was Major Crimes and Rizzoli and Isles to round out our viewing.

I couldn't believe I was preparing a salad supper at 5:00!!!
Louis Dean took a hot bath and has been in bed since 7:00.

I have been outside pulling weeds and watering plants and walking Lucy.

I spied this fellow out on the kitchen pond.

He's pretty ugly, I must say!
I will be listening for him on these summer nights.
But not on THIS June night.
I am just about to head to bed myself.
My coffee is fixed and ready to turn on in the morning and the alarm is set for 4:30 am.
I set our clothes out and have my bag ready - because you KNOW I am a Bag Lady and take one with me everywhere I go! Water, a new book, a sweater - hospitals are cold - and other little odds and ends that I just MIGHT need!!

I thank you all for the prayers you have said for Louis Dean.
He does, indeed, feel like a special guy!
Now! Let's get this surgery DONE!!!

  13. Prayers going up for you both this morning. Linda, I am a bag lady as well. When Marvin had his knee replaced, I had a pretty Vera Bradley bag packed full of anything I thought I might need at the hospital. I look forward to hearing that all went well.
