The EVE of Christmas Eve is nearly as special as Christmas Eve is to me!
Last night we slipped into Quadville around midnight and went straight to bed.
There's just something so special about waking up in Quadville!!
The babies are always so happy to see us!
That just warms my heart!!
Amber had an early morning appointment but STILL got up early enough to fix a hearty breakfast for all of us! Bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, sliced fresh strawberries - AND some of Louis Dean's freshly made cinnamon rolls!!
The babies go up and down in Granddad's arms!!
The girls love to wear my earrings! I may be the last woman in America to wear CLIPS!!
I only had the one pair I was wearing so they had to take turns!
Sweet!! I need to remember to bring THREE pair so I have enough to share!!!
Kailey leaves them on long enough to pose while Logan will wear them for several minutes.
Harrison says NO thank you!!
After breakfast I opened the gates thereby enlarging the play area to the kitchen!!
Kids love tents! ALL my children did!
LOVE watching these girls play!!!
I crawled in there and read books to them!
Having GRAND quads is so much fun!!
Sweet baby girls!! Not so much 'baby' anymore!
Amber treated us to Chick Fil A for lunch. After we helped get the babies down for their naps we left Quadville to do our errands. I mailed my Christmas box to Benjamin, dropped cinnamon rolls off to Louis Dean's Geek Squad and picked up sour cream at Braum's where Louis Dean ordered a LARGE strawberry malt!!! NOT what I planned when I sent him in!!
I guess he needed the boost since he hit the kitchen when we got home!!
He made 48 dinner rolls with each one weighing exactly the same!!!
What a man!!!
While he was baking rolls he had the Christmas ham cooking in the roaster!
You notice he does NOT use cloves in cooking his hams!!
I LOVE cloves! It just doesn't look right without them!
But since HE is doing the cooking I go with it!
I loved that he cooked it outside in the gazebo!
I gave Lucy a nice warm bath in the bathtub (as opposed to the COLD bath from the outside water faucet last week!) and then took her for a walk. It is 1.7 miles to walk the 'snake' in our neighborhood and I could smell that ham two streets over!!!
I was cutting it close but managed to finish the last pillow for a grand tonight!
This is for for Levi! I simply HAD to use jeans to go with his name!
My Christmas Cactus is blooming right on schedule.
For many years I taught Sunday School and long years ago one of the mothers of a little boy gave me this plant.
I treasure it.
I received news this evening about another 'little boy' from those Sunday School days.
He died unexpectedly yesterday morning.
So I am reminded that during the joy of this season there are some who are grieving.
Somehow Christmas encompasses both joy and sorrow.
Your pillows are just beautiful and a memory wrapped in fabric. The babies are all full of smiles and getting more adorable each day. Have a very Merry CHRISTmas, Texas style and eat some hot rolls for me... I think my iPad has built in smellavision yummmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't seem right to me that there's ever any sorrow at Christmastime, but just spending time with my blogging buds lets me know that there is plenty. Your gifts turned out very well. Looks as if you've got it all under control there. I, on the other hand, have to split...three days of ice have got me three days behind. Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas! Kiss and hug all those babies extra.
ReplyDeletei am dying to know why there is a fence around the two chairs. loved the videos and it looks like LD has it all under control. i would be happy with the ham and rolls all by themselves. my grandmother made her ham like that
ReplyDeleteOh Linda, how fun and delightful to romp through your blog this morning and see those darlings wearing your earrings. I have several "clips" that were Don's moms.
ReplyDeleteIn a perfect world, I would have a husband who loved to cook...HaHa..the only time my dearest go to the kitchen is to get to the back yard...But he's in his domain when he's preaching or studying for a sermon. Since we retired...he misses that preaching...but we need to move and be close to our grandkids too. After 50 years of ministry...it was time to retire. Sorry Linda, didn't mean to ramble...just love seeing you man in the kitchen.
even with sad news, your entries a;ways warm my heart!! the quads are looking awesome!!
