We didn't have a long wait........
.....but time enough to snap a few pictures.
Such a cute couple!!
The last scan seemed to indicate a set of monozygotic (identical) twins - Babies A and D.
THIS week the doctors and nurses feel like the scan shows each baby with its own placenta and sac......which is a very good thing as this would rule out the risk of the twins sharing a joint blood supply. This does not necessarily rule out twins, however.
It gets complicated. There are dizygotic (fraternal) twins as well as monozygotic.
But for now the important thing is that babies and mom are ALL doing well at this time.
Tomorrow Amber will be 20 weeks.
The hustle and bustle and tension and stress from a quad pregnancy can be pretty overwhelming at times. Amber and Mike take it all in stride. They know each other very well. Mike knew Amber was about at her limit today. So - instead of coming straight home - he took us all to the movies! AND it was a movie tavern at that!
Nothing chills Amber out like a trip to the cinema!
She had two tall glasses of iced tea - while I sipped a nice glass of chardonnay - and we all enjoyed an appetizer platter of all things fried!
Our movie?
This Means War.......very cute and totally lifted our spirits!
We all came home with smiles on our faces and with a much more relaxed attitude!
I will close with a few pics......
Amber at 20 weeks!
And still growing!
That's my girl!!
That gal has one fantastic smile! How interesting what's going on in that womb with four unique individuals hanging out together. Hope they're learning to share and be sweet. =D
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet son-in-law you have to anticipate his wife's needs. Just as it really should be, but so seldom is.
Blessings...
I recently found yours and Ambers blog. Thank you so much for the updates. Reading your blog is so enjoyable, and you seem(you are) such a warm loving person, and I can tell those little ones will be sooooo loved.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers will contine that Amber goes as long as possible before delivering those little ones.
Thanks again, and please continue the great updates!!

What an exciting and wonderful time for all of you!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. :)
I am glad you got to go with us! It's always an experience! :)
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful day...great photos...
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting day for all of you. Imagine snapping pictures in the waiting room. I would never have the nerve to do that. I want to, but....
ReplyDeleteAmber looks so happy. What a great guy Mike is to take you all to the movies to chill out.
Have fun while you're there.
Linda, your daughter is so beautiful - and she has your smile!
ReplyDeleteI pray that Amber will continue to enjoy good health and keep her amazing outlook - she is quite a woman!
I can't even begin to imagine how complicated quad pregnancies can be. I am VERY happy to hear babies and momma are doing well though :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to have a partner who can pick up on you being overwhelmed, scared, etc. Sounds like Amber and Mike work well together. Glad you all were able to lift her spirits with the movie.
Many Prayers still coming her way :)
Amber is looking fantastic! What did we ever do before these fancy machines came into our lives to tell us what was going on inside our bodies? I suppose for most of us it was to be still and pray, that's about all we could do back then. With our technology though it's so reasurring to know that all is well with Mom and the babies.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you all enjoyed your movie, you can have a glass of wine in the theater? That's the first I've ever heard of this, no way in Alberta, it's $7 pop or nothing... that might be a wee bit of an exageration but not much.
Have a wonderful weekend and God bless you all.
I know the only important thing is... All are doing fine... Mama and babies.
ReplyDeleteBut... Possible identical twins! Ohhhhhhhh that sounds so exciting to me! I am simply mesmerized by the topic of twins. Mostly identical twins.
'Cause fraternal are simply like any other sibling, but born at the same time. I guess....
But IDENTICAL! That is so interesting.
Yeah, as if... With 4 to take care of... Anyone will be able to notice all the stuff, about identical twins, hu? :-) Well, maybe Nana will have more time.
Oh and, what is your chosen name please? Nana.... Gradma... Gramma... Etc., etc., etc.?

How could I forget to comment on the WONDERS of that Daddy-To-Be?!?
ReplyDeleteI do comment on how wonderful it is, that he knows his wife so well. And I'm sure, it is visa-versa too.
They have taken the time to really get to know each other, in the marriage union. I think that is wise and lovely. :-) Just me, but I do.

Found your blog thru one of Carla Kennedy's Pinterest boards...glad I did. I'm now following and look forward to checking in often. What excitement your family is experiencing w/Quads.
ReplyDeletePrayers for all!
Amber looks so pretty and happy with her baby(s) bump. So good that Dad can be with her on these Dr. visits. What a special treat for her to have her mom with her too!...I don't understand the twin "thang". My oldest dd is married to a twin - his Mom says they were in separate sacs in the womb, yet they are totally identical. Go figure!
