We left the ranch before noon on Sunday.
Arrival is always more fun than departure.
We stopped for Whataburger in Bellmead so we could drive straight home.
And we arrived around 4:00 - in time to see the Cowboys lose at the last minute.
While I put stuff away after we unloaded - Louis Dean went to his room and shelled pecans for the next several hours. Those pecans were from last year's harvest and we had them down at the ranch.
I will need to order some walnuts and pecans for him to shell this winter!
The cats were happy to have us home!
Summer took care of our house and kitties while we were gone......
Thank you, Summer!
I had an appointment with my urologist early Monday morning and it turns out I have a nasty UTI - a different one I've never had before. I immediately started on an antibiotic. I'm better now but it's been a tough week.
I've started the big fall take down and am going room by room starting with the living room, foyer and porch.
Louis Dean has been my Knight in Shining Armour!
He matched lids to tubs - and it's crazy that they are all so different.
We have been eating easy meals but I'm planning on heating up a ham and make potato salad and baked beans for tomorrow.
It will be our Saturday dinner and movie night and while the living room area is looking very Christmasy - the den is still in FALL mode.
However, we will be watching our first Christmas movie of the season!

You sound good, even after leaving your happy place. I think it's 'cause you carry happiness everywhere you go!
Seems we "schedule" our UTIs together! They seem to get worse as I get older.
I know Samantha and Tabitha were glad to see y'all. I thought they loved the country, too---that may be why they stay behind. They like to get out!
Good pic of Summer! Love you, Trudy
ps--Will it be "It's A Wonderful Life", "A Christmas Carol", or something a bit newer? I love the old B&W ones, myself. Ed and I never fail to watch "A Christmas Carol" with Alastair Sim--made, I think-- in the 1930's.
