Finding Comfort in Ordinary Life....

It's been a week of adjusting to what one may call 'normal life.'

It's a comfort and a sorrow at the same time.
This week has been difficult emotionally and yet in some ways comforting.
My heart still hurts but I also have hope and so many good memories of both of my sisters.

Our Saturday night dinner and movie dates have continued.
This one was last week.....

And this one was last night....

We all love our Saturday night dates....
Summer, I and Ileen......

Last week we had a charcuterie board.....

I havent cooked in awhile......
chooosing fried chicken from Kroger, loaded baked potatoes and salad......

Breakfast burritos made for an easy meal....

Last night I made some homemade guacamole....

and it was delicious!
Avocadoes were just $0.39 cents at Aldi!

We normally have a cocktail and last night was a strawberry wine with mixed berry flavored water and fresh strawberries.

Our dinner menu was hamburgers and roasted corn that I cooked earlier in the day while the grill was in the shade.

Louis Dean approved and even joined us in the den towards the end of the movie.

I admit getting up in the morning and doing all the normal routines is hard.
After Deanie left us, it seems that life should have changed and in some ways it has.
I'm still comforted knowing my sisters are together again but my heart is heavy.

The day after the funeral, I thought I would stay in bed all day and yet I woke up feeling fine.
Summer and I met Brenda at the thrift store and found some treasures.

Brenda found all of these treasues for me.

And I found the winter napkin rings....

The next day was not so good as I grieved and stayed in bed much of the day.

Losing loved ones is hard.
Brenda has lost her mother and father and brother and her beloved, dog, Charlie.
Loss is loss....
family and pets who are like family.
Her dear Sadie is now in serious condition and we are praying for her to gain strength and start eating again.

So comforting to know our Lord is always with us and loves us with His great enduring love. I don't know how those that choose a life without Him even exist!
I always enjoy your food dish pictures so! You have so many gifts, Linda! I'm sure your heart is aching. Maybe time will help heal.
love, Trudy

it is hard to adjust to the loss of a loved one. Everyone grieves in their own way and there is no set time that it takes. Cherish your memories.
You found some good treasures while out thrifting.

I do know how hard it is to adjust after losing a loved ones but sometimes it is those normal days that help get us through the tough times. You are blessed with a wonderful family and friend. Try to enjoy the people you still have with you here on earth.

Much love and prayer for you, friend. God is good, and you know your sisters are with him. He still has work for you to do, on his behalf, so it is not your time yet. One day it will be your time and you sisters will be reunited.

A few "normal days" really do help us through those difficult ones. I'm so glad that Summer and Ilene are close by and you can just be YOU with them.
Praying for you each day. God knows and He has put your tears into a bottle. (((hugs)))

IT's good you have family and friends close by who come to help keeps life moving on, but it's also good to give yourself time to grieve. I know for me grief comes in little bunches here and there, when you least expect it. And it doesn't end in a month or a year or even a few years. It comes back on special holidays and anniversaries of dates, or when we see or hear something that makes us think about the loved one. Yes, those memories are treasures to be honored and remembered and not apologize for. One day at a time. (((HUGS)))

I think as we get older, grief is even worse. And I know that these many prayers will make things easier. My favorites are the red shirt and the fall top with leaves on it. And you have beautiful fall goblets. Hey, tomorrow is your favorite day of the year!!

Grieving is so hard. Unfortunately it's inevitable. We are so blessed that we have that hope that we will see our loved ones again. Blessings

We all grieve in different ways. I know for me, I am a person that loves deeply and I grieve deeply. Almost two years since my brother passed away and my heart still aches terribly. Prayers for you Linda as I know your heart is broken. Looks like some good movies for movie night and the food...it looks great. I started a diet and I promise I could eat everything you shared...if only I could get it out of the computer. Wishing for y'all a great week and perhaps some rain...
