Winding up the Week!

The spring Book Fair ran from Thursday to Thursday and that worked out well in being able to get the reorders in and on the shelves for purchase!

It's amazing how some books fly right off the tables and cases.

Wednesday all four of the Bell grands had the same lunch period - not a typical thing - so Amber treated us all to Chick-Fil-A!

It was delicious and so much fun to sit and eat with them.
I had bought some tea cakes - but forgot them - so the next day they stopped by the library one by one to pick theirs up!

Louis Dean had 'escaped' and shopped Walmart AND Home Depot while I was gone!

He made his spaghetti and meat sauce (Summer purchased the wheat pasta) while I made the salad and garlic bread and Summer made us margaritas!
We carried our plates out to the den and watched an episode of The Rookie before going to bed early.

I cut bouquets while Louis Dean was cooking and the roses and honeysuckle make a great 'pairing!'

I'm not a big fan of rose scented perfume but I wonder if they make a honeysuckle fragrance for women? I'll have to check that out!

Thursday after book fair I stopped by the house to get a swim suit and headed over to Brenda's for a 'spa' visit.

Here's her cute babies!
Charlie to the left and Sissy to the right!

They dearly love their mommy!

Brenda had what I call 'Ladies' Food' and it was so good.

We went out to soak in her hot tub for an hour or so.

That felt so very GOOD!!

I showered and washed my hair as soon as I got home.
Supper was leftovers and I headed off to bed....

lighting this highly scented candle Brenda gave me.

It's such a pleasure to crawl under the sheets and read for an hour or so before going to sleep!
I am reading this book like I'm thirsty for knowledge and understanding about what happens - not only to Alice but what I may need to prepare myself for in the future.

Today was break down the book fair and return the library to its original condition!
It's a lot more fun to set it up than to take it down - but the latter is much faster!!

There's a Trader Joe's less than 5 miles from the school so I treated myself to a little shopping!

Amber has been talking about all the great seasonings there so I picked up a few for  myself.

I'm intrigued with the sparkling wine in the reusable bottles!
A lady was there pairing cheese and wine ....

I bought a bottle of the red I sampled and a couple of people commented on how much THEY liked it!

I think this was one of the seasonings Amber was talking about!

It was a fun visit at Trader Joe's!

I snapped this pic of a painting in the bathroom there!
I may just have to paint one of these!

In other news.....
Summer is still here as she is awaiting surgery later this month to remove, replace, and reposition the spinal stimulator in her back. For now - it is not working and she is back to being in severe debilitating pain. Intense pain affects your ability to think and function so she is not doing well at all. Still, she is trying to keep it together knowing there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Hang on, Summer!
Praying for God to give you the strength to endure until the surgery!
We love you!

  2. Oh, I'm so sorry Summer is in so much pain and pray she will be able to have it rectified soon.
Love the picture you will paint. the expressions are so cute.
I want to hear all about that book when you are finished. My friend Lynne is going down that slippery slope quickly. I just got back from 4 hours with her today. Language skills are getting less and less and repetition can try the patience.. Very exhausting

  3. I love the scent of honeysuckle! It is hard to find! I asked our kids for it one Christmas, and they gave me Honeysuckle lotion. I think they found it at amazon, two different brands in really pretty bottles. I'll take a look and send you a link if I find it. Charlie & Sissy are adorable!!!

  4. Linda, go to Amazon and type in "honeysuckle lotion for women". They have all different kinds and some in such pretty bottles. But also in small tubes to go in purses.

  6. Praying for Summer right now!

That hot tub looks nice! I bet it felt great.

We don’t have a Trader Joe’s near us. The closest one is an hour away in Delaware! I don’t get there often but I do enjoy it when I do go.

  8. So very sorry to hear about Summer's back issues. Praying she can hang in there until they can do the surgery, and that the surgery will be a huge success. Back pain is no fun at all. Looks like you had a wonderful time at the Book Fair with Amber and the kids nearby too. What a great way to spend some time doing something you love for people you love! Oh, that food looks great...all of it! Your meals always inspire me to do better. We eat rather boring meals here, but hubby doesn't like too much fancy or different stuff, so we are kind of in a rut with the same things I know he likes. Cooking isn't one of my favorite things anyway, so we just make do with what's easy and affordable, which nowadays is getting harder and harder to find! I am thankful I don't have to cook for a large family anymore! Who can afford to do that? Anyway, I loved visiting here and I hope you all have a lovely weekend. I love that picture of the red pick up truck with the pigs and cows...yes, I think you should paint it! LOL.

  9. I will say a prayer for Summer and hope she will soon feel much better. You are blessed with a great family and good friends! Like you, my days are never boring. I have moved in with my daughter and love living with family again and no longer living by myself. I don't do the cooking anymore. She does it all. We don't have a Trader Joes nearby, only Walmart or H.E.B for grocery stores and I got to go to H.E.B. for the first time, this week. They seem to have a good selection of everything there too. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Prayers for Summer, for less pain while waiting , for guidance of the surgeon to find the right place and for strength to get by until it happens.

  11. When I was a teenager, Avon used to have a honeysuckle body splash. Then they came out with a body lotion. That was my signature fragrance until they discontinued it. I haven’t found anything since. I’ll have to check out the lotions on Amazon.

  15. Linda, I am praying for sweet Summer girl. I know a few even in my family that have lots of back pain. A hard pain to get thru. I'm thankful a tylenol and the heat pad takes care of mine. Growing up my mom's spices were salt and pepper. LOL I do a lot of different spices, but little salt. A hot tub is awesome on sore joints. Bet you enjoyed that. Blessings to all there. Love you, xoxo, Susie

  16. Sweet Linda ~ Oh Summer, she had endured so much pain in her life, and always with a smile and wonderful attitute. That's a tribute to her dependency on our gracious Lord. Only He knows what the purpose and outcome of this trial in her life.
I love Trader Joes and make it at least a monthly trip~! I love their seasonsing too, and use the TJ 21 mix a lot.
I think of your "teenage" quads as our great grandsons are now 16 and 17. Can't believe Issaac will turn 18 in a year!

My hair fix turned out so good. She is a miracle worker HaHa.

Sending love and Hugs and prayers for your and your L.D. Thanks for your prayer for us.
