New Projects!

Did y'all wonder about the last photos on last night's journal?
The Internet kept going in and out and apparently my words on those pics didn't save!

Dean took these photos in Marlin where he was working yesterday.

He is an artistic kind of guy and sees the beauty around him.

Marlin got rain yesterday but we didn't.

Dean is laying pipe - 600 feet of it at the point when he took this pic.

Louis Dean is knee deep in his new project - adding decking to make a wrap-around!
Yesterday he framed out one portion and today he did another.

He likes for me to watch him.
He called out, "Linda! You're gonna wanna come out and SEE this!"

He can do so many things all by himself using pipes and shovels and such.

He was pretty proud of himself!

And I was proud of him, too.

I have been a bit down with the heat today.
Summer had an appointment for a second opinion on that CAT scan today.
She is doing so much better since the SCS! But she has some issues with her neck and upper spine.
She just keeps on doing the next right thing so another couple of tests and in two weeks another appointment to determine a plan of treatment.

Chandy is nesting and getting ready for Baby Jax to arrive - he will be here about as soon as August arrives.

Chandy sees her doctor twice a week and he is concerned about her blood pressure so every visit she is holding her breath to see if she has to be admitted to the hospital.

It's still Christmas in July and it will be in August and September, too!
I am thinking about using this one for my Christmas cards this year if it turns out good.
This was session #2.
It must dry before I can do much more on it.
Probably 4 sessions in all.
But I have another one just like it based in so I will paint that tomorrow.
It will be interesting to see how much alike or not they are!

Now I am going out to watch the stars for a few minutes and then I am going to do something I have been looking forward to doing ever since I got UP this morning - going to bed!
It's nice and cool in the camper and the girl bunk is so snug and cozy.
I'm going to take my 'night tea' - that's what I call it because everytime I wake up in the night, I take a little sip. Plus I'm still reading the book by Dee Drummond.
And then there's a few games of Words With Friends.....
Good thing I don't have to get up early in the morning!

  1. The internet is giving lots of us fits. I can't upload any pics at all so it will be awhile before I post again.

Louis Dean is amazing with all his tricks of the trade. He has accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. Wish I could remember the trick that John used to uproot small trees. He used a length of board and that's all I remember. I should have paid better attention.

I am always impressed by that burst of energy expectant moms have just before delivery. Praying that Chandy's health remains excellent because she doesn't have time for a longer hospital visit.

Ongoing prayers for Summer. It is good that she doesn't settle for second best where her health is concerned.

Your girl bunk does sound pleasant. Hope that your rest was sweet and that your reading and games were just the thing.

  5. Hi LInda. Wow - what a great deck. Louis Dean is a true "handy man." I love you Christmas card painting. Prayers for all to go well with the arrival of the new baby. Have a good Thursday and stay cool!

  6. Louis Dean has been a busy man. Hope he takes care that heat doesn't get him down. It doesn'take much these days for it to get me back inside in the cool house. Thank goodness for a/c.. I'd not get much at all done otherwise. I usually start my Christmas project on the 25th of July. But unlike you, I've not fund any inspiration for this year. I want it to be special for 2020. It's beens such an unusual year.

  7. Well I'm glad the make-do boards that he found that were eight foot not 10 foot or working out it looks perfect to me. Did y'all get somebody to come out and give you a price on putting that roof over on yet? I'm assuming the roof will cover all of that deck he's putting out right? I don't even think about Christmas during the month of December so I'm not going to think about it right now it's too hot. But you know how much I loved your Santa paintings and all your paintings that you do. Prayers for chandi! And she does look like she's ready. Hurry August. Dean takes photos like my son Dan takes photos he stops his car or rather his truck and takes pictures out the side window and take pictures while he's driving pictures just like what Dean took. Dan is 53 so I'm thinking Dana's probably somewhere in that age bracket to

  9. LD is a wonder! I don't know where he gets all his energy. I'm younger than he is and I don't have the stamina he does. It's so sweet that he wants you to see his accomplishments.

Your Christmas picture is beautiful. Can't wait to see it finished.

Have a good time at the ranch.

  10. Well, I had another headache last night and missed this entirely, but it's a great seeing it today!
It's amusing how men always still have a little boy inside there saying, "Look what I did. Come watch me make this, Mama!" Ed is like that about learning a new song of something, but he is no handyman - - so I never get to applaud any sort of thing like Louis does.(Very much wish I could, because I would praise him to the highest mountain!)😍
Louis is just rolling along with his wood and deck! You'll soon have a bigger deck, and Louis must never, ever run out essential projects...they keep him young and going strong. Glad he does pace himself a bit.
Your Mr.and Mrs. Santa are looking great. I agree --- faces are hard, but at least they're not portraits of people. You've done lots of great, great Santa's the the the years and so will this be! Just bit by brother and stroke by stroke and soon, your Christmas painting will be done.
Sorry Summer's not quite right, but she's finding some relief, I pray! Having Fibromyalgia myself, I identify with that kiddo a lot! I've gotten to a place of acceptance, I guess, and I don't take anything for it anymore. It never helped, and caused many problems, so right now, it just is what it is. 😥
The last two nights, Ed, Jr. and family have planned to go fish at the pier at night, but David has not felt up to it. Please say an extra prayer for him -- this week is Ed's vacation and he was hoping to take David fishing. Fishing use to be David's passion, but he stays so tired right now.
Enjoy puttering around. I know that is one of your delights. 💕 Try to keep Louis in the right direction and I'll do the same with Ed! (I hear, "You were right." so many times a day from him, I should be getting a dollar each year time-- I'd be rich.) I told Ed one time, (jokingly of course), that it was just "a burden being right all the time". LOL! A running inside joke in our little family, but alas, I don't know the answer to evetything. I do have common sense, though, which naturally gives me an edge. 😎
Ed seems to be getting more forgetful and I, too, am. Just another aging thing! I ask the Lord to keep our steps going on the right path, and the same for all our friends and family!
    Love, Trudy

  11. Linda, you are so precious. I love how you explain you life on the ranch.
Besides talent you have more energy than many of us put together.
Love your paintings and I do love LD.
He is a Master carpenter. the wrap around deck will be wonderful for you.
Stay cool and I hope you enjoyed your sleep.
I like when I don't have to get up at any special time too.

  12. I don't think I have ever missed a post from you, so how on earth did I miss that one? I went back and read it...it looked alright to me! Why is Dean laying all that pipe? Please let me know what the doctor said at Summer's appointment! It is so cool that you will soon have a wrap around porch! I have always wanted one.

  16. Linda, I'm so glad my dear friend Sue (Photowantabe) has come to your blog. I knew she would fall in love with you and Louis Dean. She is a blog friend I met in person, as we are both in CA and met and immediately, bonded. Both her husband Dave and my dearest.

    You would love her.

Yes, you are a woman of so many talents, and gifts, yet one of the most loving and generous people I've ever knows.

    Love you tons!!

  17. That Louis Dean just zips right through big projects doesn't he!!?? that man gets things DONE, HA HA. Hope y'all will have a great weekend, not sure of our plans yet....we are winging it for sure and who knows what we'll end up doing, ha ha. It is hot here, so that limits alot of things.

  18. Louis Dean and his projects remind me of my husband, pat and the ones he did at the VA house. He built a tractor shed and a small storage barn on his own, and I think he misses projects like that. Best wishes for the health of your family members, Linda .The new Santa painting is wonderful and very sweet.

  19. LD is as bad as David they don't stop even when it's 105 out. They aren't happy unless they have projects. These men.
Dean caught some great pictures. We finally got an inch of rain today. Things are very brown and dry here.
Continued prayers for Summer. She can't catch a break. But she seems to have a positive push on attitude.
The heat definitely isn't my friend. Stay in that trailer and stay cool. Hugs
