We Made it to the COUNTRY!!!

The best laid plans sometimes go awry!!
Last night went fine with our guest room chock full of sweet grands AND their sweet mama!!!
Granddad woke up first this morning and went in to turn on the coffee.
Kailey woke up second and after visiting with her 'GANDdad!!" - she came in and got back in bed with me. Slowly everyone woke up! Poor Harrison said his ear was hurting and Amber was quick to call the pediatrician for an immediate appointment!!

The girls entertained themselves with the shells my sister and I brought back from last weekend's trip to Galveston. I finished packing and cleaning up the house for our departure.

Amber called and said they were on their way!
She had picked up the Rx and other medicines and the doctor gave the thumbs up - Harrison could GO TO THE COUNTRY!!

Granddad had everything packed and loaded with NO room to spare in the back!
Louis Dean's big white truck would not accommodate the car seats so we borrowed their Dada's truck for the trip!

Kailey reminded Granddad, "You be CAREFUL with Dada's truck!!"

Both kids fell asleep shortly after we pulled out of the driveway!

We stopped for a late lunch at The Iron Skillet and it was a good choice.
Harrison had Jello and chicken noodle soup - which was just perfect for him.
He had the beginnings of strep throat!
Kailey ate fried chicken, rice and rolls!!
The nice waitress didn't even charge us for their food since we ate the buffet.

I always stop at HEB on the way to the camper.
Since the back was full, we stacked the groceries in the floor boards and even on top of the cat crate!

Harrison said, "Can we go to the COUNTRY now??"

YES! We made it!! The horses met us at the gate and then ran across the field as we pulled in!
Harrison and Kailey both LOVED seeing them!
I made a simple supper of fruit and grilled cheese sandwiches, put their pajamas on and said it was just about bedtime at 7:30!

Harrison knows all about talking to people on iPads!!!
FaceTime is a great way to stay connected!

The kids have had a great day! Harrison is feeling 'MUCH better' now and by 9:00 they were both sound asleep!

Louis Dean, Dean and Grandson Robert all went outside to visit while I got the kids to sleep.
Robert built us a beautiful campfire and it was wonderful to sit there gazing into the flames as we sipped our wine and watch the gorgeous moon rise from behind the tree line and sail on up into the sky. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......we're in the COUNTRY!!!

  7. Linda, I hope Harrison is feeling better. It's kind of sad when kids have their heart set on doing something and they are a bit sick. I knew they would love all the animals there. Praying you all have a fun time there. The kids can do their karate with Dean. Blessings to all, xoxo,Love you guys, Susie

  17. Fun times! I hope Harrison heals quickly. My son had strep off & on constantly until we visited an ENT and he agreed the tonsils needed to come out. He was a different child after that!

  18. Sounds like fun with the little ones in the country. I bet you are nice and cozy in the camper. Kids sure bounce back quickly when they are sick. It took me more than three weeks to feel better when I just had streph. Have a great time. Take care of Papa's truck.

  19. so just Harrison and Kailey this trip to the farm? You had a loaded down vehicle that's for sure. Harrison's features are changing ever so slightly. He's not a baby anymore.
