We are HOME!

It's like magic!
This morning I woke up in our 31 foot camper -
and tonight I am going to bed in what FEELS like a humongous HOUSE!
As soon as we had coffee and emptied out the fridge we were headed out!

Louis Dean drove the whole way in his big white truck!
He so enjoys that thing and I LOVE to have someone else do the driving.

It was a cold rainy day but I love that kind of weather!
I love ALL weather!
Except HOT!!

Northbound and DOWN!

First stop - breakfast at Denny's!

Louis Dean was excited about the 'truck driver' coffee!!
We have TWO pots of coffee at home - his and hers!
In the camper we only have room for ONE pot so we compromise on Hazelnut!

We are HOME!!
The lights are all on!
The candles are lit!
The classical music is playing!
We are having such a good time revisiting the house - we've caught ourselves just wandering from room to room looking at all our 'stuff!'

Summer, Sabrina, and Sweet Abby Rayne came over to spend this New Year evening with us!
They brought all sorts of delicious salads, snacks, Chicken Chowder, desserts, chips.....

It was wonderful to sit at the dining room table again.
I miss eating at a table.

It was perfect food for a cold night!

The den fireplace made it all warm and cozy!

Even Lucy is glad to be home!

Granddad enjoyed a little time with Abby Rayne!
I think she has 'cottoned up' to him!

They were the very best welcoming committee ever!!

They've gone home now - leaving the kitchen all clean and food for our lunch tomorrow.
The music is still playing......the candles are still burning.....
the fireplace is mesmerizing.......
and Louis Dean is waiting for me to pour us a glass of wine.....
I think we will simply sit for awhile.
It's good to be home.

  1. So very very glad to see you guys at home! The house smelled and looked wonderful. Course not used to the sewing cabinet in the foyer being so empty. We so enjoyed our time together & Rayne had a great time playing with you! Sweet dreams and enjoy the next week at home sweet home!

  10. "O, Auntie Em...there's no place like home."

I remember when we used to take a weeks vacation in our little camper and when we got home, it seemed like our house was a castle...a BIIIIG CASTLE. hahaa....
Welcome home, you two adorable people. :)

  12. Hi Linda!
Thanks so much for stopping by our blog! It's so nice of you to visit!!

Oh yes, there's no place like home. My Mom always said "It's fun to travel but the best part is coming home". So true.

Love your blog, you and your hubby are a darling couple. And those quads! How adorable!! I love how your DIL & son have everything down to a routine... incredible.

Hope to see you often, I know I'll be back here!
    Big hugs, Sherry & Marie

PS please excuse the deleted comment above. I used to have a blog Edie Marie's Attic but now I'm teamed up with Marie @ Creations by Marie Antionette. Sometimes blogger doesn't know where I'm coming from!

  13. I'm sure coming home to the house is like going on vacation after many days in a camper.
But as long as you and LD are together it always seems warm and cozy no matter where you are.
Y'all always have a cup half full never half empty
I'm always in awe of y'all and everything you do.
