Here We ARE!

We left home yesterday morning just ONE MINUTE late! 4:01 am instead of 4:00! Not bad!

We always stop at our favorite cafe for breakfast. This is about halfway to Houston.
Mile marker 197 to be exact! Farifield, Texas.

It was early afternoon when we pulled up in Amber's driveway.
Louis Dean enjoyed a beer from Mike's well stocked beverage fridge and then played a few tunes on his new Penny Whistle. I bought him a set for an early anniversary present and he is loving them. They came in a set with six different keys. That's twelve whistles - brass and nickle plated.
It was a perfect afternoon to be outside listening to the birds and making our own music as well......playing his whistles and strumming the guitar!

We were waiting for Amber to get back from her doctor appointment.
All is well. All four little hearts are beating and Amber is now the size of a 27 week pregnancy. She is also now on modified bed rest. Which means she gets to lie back in the recliner and act like a movie star - telling people what to do and directing all activity from her throne.

This SOUNDS wonderful but - believe me - it is hard for her to do!
But she is doing everything she can to take care of herself and those four little Bell's.
And WE are doing everything WE can do to take care of HER as she takes care of THEM!!

Here is a set of pics showing her 'progress!'

She is now at week 17!

The importance of staying off her feet is very clear to her. She does NOT want to go to JAIL the hospital until she HAS to! Which looks like April at this time.
Her fellow quad mom, Ashley, was admitted yesterday. She is 22 weeks and is the size of a 45 week pregnancy! (IS there such a thing??? 40 weeks is 'term' for a singleton!)  She was having contractions and the hospital is the best place for her. Please say a prayer for her and the four little ones she is carrying. A few more weeks will make all the difference! As far as I know there are only three women in Texas expecting quadruplets at this time - including Amber. The third 'Quad Mom' is 25 weeks so they are all right in there together with the time frame.

Well, I am off to begin the day! Lots to do to get the house ready for a party and the nursery ready for the Baby Bells! Louis Dean is doing SO much better!! Getting him away from home where he can't play outside digging trenches or doing heavy manual labor was quite a feat! BUT I DID IT!!

He will have some time to hang out and practice his music as well as make the runs to the grocery store and Home Dept!

Louis Dean is handier than a pocket on a shirt!!! Every one should have one!!

  1. Thank you for reporting in, that you got there, safe and sound.

And for the good Amber news too.

Oh yes, sitting in a recliner sounds delightful, until it is mandatory. And then, it's not even delightful, for a slug. And I am sure that Amber is no slug, by nature.

But this is for a greater purpose.

Mmmm, guess I didn't understand that there is another Quad Mom, at this time, too. Best of luck to her, of course.

    Enjoy!

But don't get all tired out!!!

Remember, none of us are *Youngin's* anymore. Not even you, my Dear. :-))))))))))))))) Pace yourself.

    Please...

    And ENJOY!!! :-)

  7. Wow. A lot going on. Just thinking about the gal already in the hospital just two weeks ahead of Amber...yes, praying for her to have a very successful experience. And for Amber, too, who will do everything required no matter how tough. Lots of fun and all the best...

  8. Your two are amazing! I'm getting accustomed to your drive to Houston now and imagine I'd like breakfast at that place in Fairfield. Good luck with all the preparations!
