Our Valentine's Weekend.....

Louis Dean's short term memory is next to nothing so I was very surprised when he greeted me on Saturday morning with a homemade Valentine's card...
I said, "You remembered!"
He said, "It was hard to miss since it's all over Facebook!"

This year's Valentines plus the previous two....

We don't get out much any more and that is true....
and it's also true that Louis Dean is extremely creative!

How blessed am I to be married to such a romantic man?

He makes me so happy even when he makes me crazy!
He is my one true love and I am his second true love.
I am looking forward to meeting his beloved Ellen in heaven because I have come to love and admire her as I have learned so much about the great love she had for Louis Dean and the love he had...and has....for her.

My son and his wife celebrated their first anniversary on Valentine's Day....

And to top it all off - it was my brother Buster's birthday!!!
We talked on the phone that evening and I am so grateful for the memories we have made together and looking forward to the ones we will make in the future.

Louis Dean and I enjoy our mornings on the kitchen deck.
I do my devotionals and we do our out loud readings....

Amber gifted her dad with this book about historical heros!
He totally LOVED Ella Fitzgerald!
As I played the songs referenced on YouTube, he squealed like a little kid in delight!

I played all the songs mentioned in the chapter and he loved them all!

We love our birds and Louis Dean keeps the feeders full.
Except he hung a different one from that the birds loved.....it was a home repaired one with blue duct tape and they absolutely refused to go to it!

I finally convinced him to replace that one with the original one they love.

And just like that - the birds were back!!

Ilene joined us for a movie on Sunday night.
I made a charcuterie board and a fancy cocktail of strawberry wine and sparkling water.

This was our movie and it was wonderful!
I fun movie in spite of the sad parts.
We laughed and sang along and loved that this film was based on a true story.
Brenda and Billy took us to Branson a few years ago and we watched a great Neil Diamond Tribute.

We loved it!!

And I had Alexa play Neil Diamond music all day today!

Louis Dean needs a project and I keep a list of them up my sleeve.
He had fixated on the bird feeders and he really meeded to leave tham alone.
So I gave him some peat pots and garden soil and seeds.
He had a new project that kept him focused for several hours.

I'm loving the comfy sheets from my Tuesday Treasures a few weeks ago.
Normally, I would still be using our flannel sheet sets, but the weather is warmer than usual and I decided to change out to these.

All our plumbing is working and we have cold and hot water in the kitchen and bathrooms.
Life is slowly getting back to normal - whatever that is!
I'm still taking Christmas down but by keeping our outings and not entertaining has allowed me to proceed at a leisurely pace.

I have been struggling with stomach issues since Christmas and have been miserable.
I continue to struggle even now....
It appears that stress is a cause of just about everything!
I am weary and trying my very best to relax and give my burdens to the Lord.

Funny how one can be so severely stressed and not even realize it....
but it is happening to me.

Oh my. Have you seen a doctor? Just to be safe. How wonderful that you got Valentines from Louis Dean! I did not know this movie had come to streaming yet, thought it was still in the theaters.

You and Louis Dean are in my prayers for health and encouragement. The two of you are the nicest people I have met online. Please take care of yourself, see what can be done for your tummy troubles. Stress can cause all sorts of havoc.

Sorry you are feeling bad,it might be best to let the doctor figure it out. Then you can start feeling much better. LD it’s such a sweet man. You are very lucky. Glad the Plumbing problems are fixed, it’s always something with the house. Love how the seasons are changing, you just get settled in and it changes again. Bless you both

I am trying to find projects for Bob but since he can't walk, its really hard, I let him tear potty bags off the roll and fold and put in baggy, and anything he can do in bed, like putting the bag in the pot when needed. if you have any idea for bed things to do, let me know. I did make a playlist of 30's, 40's 50's music and he loves that on youtube but I have to be there to help with it, he watched an hour of Tim Conway videos from Carol Burnett.
Stress effects the gut for sure, and I have now had 5 years of it. it also has to do what you eat, raw veggies and meat effect it a lot.

Linda, I always enjoy visiting your blog. The Valentine's card from Louis Dean is so nice! I'm sorry you're having such a stressful time, I think it's an extremely challenging situation to be taking care of someone. I have dear friends who are in a similar boat, and it's exhausting, even though she loves him dearly. I have no advice, but am sending you love and a big hug.

Stress definitely affects our "innards"...but still, it's a good idea to get it check out to be safe. We are experiencing some plumbing issues right now as I write...some fellas are here trying to figure it out, and I am about to take a ride down to the local Dollar General to use their facilities...I have thought of you and your recent issues and I am trying to be as patient as you were. Thankfully, I don't think ours is as severe of an issue, but the jury is still out on that. Your sweet Valentines are so wonderful, and I'm so happy for you that LD is still able to do that. We've been celebrating Valentines and Birthdays here as well, as hubby's bd was the 16th. Between that and doctor appointments and "plumbing" issues, it's been an interesting few days. Thinking of you and praying for you that God will give you the grace and strength you need for each new day. He is able. But please don't put off taking care of yourself!

You should get to the doctor. You won't be able to take care of LD if you get sick. There is probably a medicine you can get! Take care of you so you can take care of him!!!

Sounds like a great Valentine's Day. My daughter's birthday is the 15th.
Stress causes all or a lot of illnesses for sure.
I hope you feel better.

You have married such a romantic ... I love how he loves you.
Please take care of yourself. You can't drink from an empty cup ... so to speak.
I am so thankful that your plumbing issues are now a thing of the past.
Hugs and prayers continuing.

You are a champ in my book, but may I suggest you seek out a special doctor that can listen to you and your current challenges. Sleeping is critical, and I wonder if you aren't half awake w/o realizing it and never completely relaxed. Wouldn't it be great if there was a switch to turn stress off to rest. What beautiful Valentines. Comfort in knowing you are loved by many.

Please go to a gastroenterologist about your stomach. I had a terrible time after losing Abby & Dr did an endoscopy…said my stomach looked like I had the measles & ulcers could form. Our bodies react to stress in many ways. Still
praying for both of you! 🙏❤️🙏
