We have stayed home more these last few months than ever before - all due to the intense heat!
I usually make two meals a day and maybe a snack.
Louis Dean doesn't eat nearly as much as he used to - I think I eat more than he does sometimes!
The 'other' Linda Chapman gifted us with some delicious maple syrup that made for a delicious late breakfast on Thursday.
I finished up the living room and am loving the ambiance of it all.
It's our favorite place to sit together while we read the Bible and devotional books.
It's our custom for me to read aloud to Louis Dean and the book he chose for now is by Tom Brokaw.
LD reads on his own as well but it's nice to read together and it's usually something I wouldn't read otherwise.
My favorite spot!
For several days the living room was so cluttered with fall debris and tubs of stuff that it was best for Louis Dean to walk through the dining room and avoid this room altogether.
By the time this one was clean and decorated - I had pretty much trashed the dining room so now he had to change his path to get to the kitchen!
He's such a good sport about all my excessive decorating!
It's nice to have the den all comfy and cozy!
I guess his blood is thin as he still covers up because he's cold.
Today (Friday) I managed to clean the dining room and since it was already decorated, it didn't take too long!
You can see my Rainbow vac in there because my project tomorrow is the sewing room.
I thought I might run out of decorations but it looks like I will have just enough!
I spoke too soon about Louis Dean having his last appointment!
The cardiologist office called today to schedule him with yet another specialist after reading the results of his heart monitor. It showed pauses that were long enough to be concerned with but not overly so as he has not been having any symptoms.
While he is in permanent afib, he is on medication and it seems to be under control.
So - just ONE more doctor visit in early September!
No end in sight for these triple digit days and the forecast for September First is 101!!
I will be celebrating anyway!
As soon as I close tonight's journal entry, I will order some candied fruit for my fruitcake cookies.
I intend to make those and spiced pumpkin muffins that day and perhaps deliver them to friends.
Everything looks so pretty and cozy! I don't know where you get the energy!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Louis Dean is being well-fed and taken care of. ❤😍
Hope you two are enjoying being inside and that it gets cooler soon.❤❤Trudy
You inspire me to get ready for fall despite the warm temperatures. I love the colors of fall.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for Louis Dean in a special way. I understand heart problems. I have afib but not constantly. It is awful. Praying for you too always.
It's good to know the doctors are all taking care of him. Yes, I still have many bags of debris sitting out!! It is about two weeks now, and I am still not done. I am hoping to finish decorating maybe Monday. But I can't decide and keep changing things around.
ReplyDeleteYour house is so cozy and inviting all decked out for fall. I love looking at pictures of all the rooms. I love fall and am so looking forward to it. It's been a hot summer. So nice that Louis Dean has a doctor that's on top of things. Hopefully this will be the last doctor appt. and then you both can enjoy the holidays knowing that's done. Happy weekend to you both!
ReplyDeleteOkay...question here...Where do you store all your decorations? Do you store one season in the bins then put out another season? Or does each season have it's own set of bins? Larry took me to Goodwill yesterday where I bought a Fall wreath for the front mudroom! Made me happy when I hung it up! lolol
ReplyDeleteThe heat is burning up our yard...107 here yesterday. More on the way. I'm SO tired of Summer!
Happy weekend!
hugs
Donna
Everything looks so colorful and cozy and welcoming! Now if Fall would just cooperate and come early! I think we are all quite tired of the high heat of this summer! LD looks quite content and happy there. I think it's nice that you read books out loud that he enjoys. That's a nice change from just watching TV all the time. Praying for his heart issues, etc., to be under control. Glad your doctors are on the ball. Take care of YOURSELF too and take time to just "chill" when you can! Thank you for your cheery and beautiful posts. You are an inspiration!
ReplyDeletei am happy to see and read about You Have Your Autumn ON! I know how happy that makes you feel. Cozy is your middle name. Cozy is also your game. LOL... Bob's heart monitor showed alarming spikes so now we are trying to get the coumdin adjusted correctly. they are both of the age that requires doctor visits and it is up to us to make/take them to the visit. glad your are resting now
ReplyDeleteI have a Rainbow too.🌈
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Linda. My your Fall Home is so delightful and full of magic and color. My cateract surgery well great, and I now see so clear in my right eye. Still have to take it easy for the week and eye drops for the next three weeks.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that the doctors are keeping close tabs on Louis Dean. Will he have to have a pacemaker and defibrillator? My dearest has both. So thankful for the technology of modern medicine.
I will have to wait until September to get my Fall decorations up. Can't lift or bend over for another couple weeks.
Sending love and hugs.
I broke out my fall decor yesterday, Linda. Landon was here helping Marvin with the lawn and I asked him to bring down my two tubs. It is almost like seeing old friends as you decorate! And now that I remember what I have, I will know if I need to pick up a few more things.lol
ReplyDeleteLove all your decor. Its so and inviting.
ReplyDeleteFirst day in ages that we have cloud cover and not so hot. Hurricane Hilary is pushing up the clouds from the South and the Pacific.
We may actually get a few sprinkles from it. Hope our friends in Baja will be safe from the brunt of it though.
Sue
Very cozy!
ReplyDeleteMy dad had the same issue that LD is having. He's got a pacemaker now and it helped him even with his walking.
Glad your beating the heat.
Hi Linda. Everything looks so beautiful. You do a great job decorating.
ReplyDeleteHope it cools down for you soon.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a couple of hot spells this summer too, but not three digits. I don't think I cold handle that.
