We were up and at 'em when we woke up Tuesday morning at the ranch!
We needed to get home in time to celebrate a very special birthday for FOUR very special grandchildren!
Trystan, Kailey, and Harrison turned 10 at 12:55 on 05-31-2022!
Logan has her own minute being born at 12:56!
And Amber still has her June birthday month all to herself - but just barely!
I well remember that day just 10 short years ago.....
and here we are this day celebrating LIFE with them for the 10th time!
Each are so special in their very own way.......
all are mighty in spirit and they all love the Lord and are sweet and kind children.
I should say kind people. They are their own person and you can see the character they have already formed if you are around them.
They are a blessing to all of us.
Son Jesse joined us in celebrating that night at Texas Roadhouse.
Guess who sat beside Granddad???
We were seated in Willie's Corner - where we were last year and the year before that!
It was a wonderful night of smiles, laughter, good food and lots of fun!
It's a tradition for both sets of grandparents to join in on the celebration and we would not miss it for anything!
Wednesday afternoon Louis Dean had an appointment for an echocardiogram followed by a heart monitor to wear for a couple of days.
I go with him to all the doctor visits now but he still checks himself in.
And we always take a selfie to document the time!
I took a pin up pic of him but this is the cropped version!
See the lady with the beautiful hair?
When we came in, I told her how pretty her hair was - and then she said she liked mine!
I said, "Well, mine is fake!" The she said, "So is MINE!!"
I'm thinking it's just the top knot - but then that's what mine is, too!
All done and looking good!
When we got home on Tuesday, I gave Louis Dean a good haircut and mowed down his eyebrows. He took a long soaking bath while coloring his hair and then spent a long time shaving! He cleans up well, don't you think??
We did errands on our way home - the bank and Aldi.
I love this store!
Buy it when you see it because you may not see it again for a long time!
These were the last two flavored coffees so I scored getting both of them.
I've since had a half pot of each and they are GOOD!
While I was shopping it came down a torrential rain!
Not to worry!
Louis Dean had an umbrella and met me at the door.
That's his big white truck out there and he handed the umbrella over to me while he wheeled the cart out and loaded the groceries into the back. Then he took the cart back in the rain 'because I knew you would not want to lose your quarter!"
My Hero!!!
Wednesday night I opened a bottle of red table wine from Aldi and shared it with Jesse with our dinner. Louis Dean was drinking his own 'boxed' wine!!
A souped up Caesar salad, pepper poppers - with two different fillings -. meat loaf and company mashed potatoes.
We ate in the den while we watched ......
Jesse has helped us get Internet in every room of our house!
Now we can watch things in the den that we couldn't before.
Win! WIN!!!
I'm loving this show!
Today - Thursday - has been a good day!
I woke up at 4:00 this morning and could not go back to sleep - so I got up! A storm was just blowing in and more heavy rain. I am so thankful NO WATER got in the house! After all the work Louis Dean has done - we have had no water issues for over a year!
I turned on all my lights and switched out the laundry, emptied the dishwasher, and fluffed up a bit of the house before getting a snack and going out to the den to watch the first episode of Season 2 of Vera. I signed up for Brit Box and I am loving it!
After lunch today I took the car to Midas Muffler on 183 and O'Connor to get my brakes fixed.
The last time I drove the car, my brake pedal squished almost to the floor. I haven't driven it since until today. We left it and went to Home Depot for some landscaping plants and on our way home, Binoy at Midas called to say my car was ready! I did NOT need the complete set of new brakes I thought I did plus we got the vehicle inspected and the oil changed. All the brakes needed was some fluid. $100! Plus Louis Dean had new windshield wipers installed.
Sometimes things turn out better than we think they will!
I have been working on the dining room every day and it is a process.
All the glass and dinnerware has to be brought in and run through the dishwasher and then loaded back in the China cabinets and buffet.
As I write tonight, the glasses are all back and looking beautiful.
Clean crystal sparkles!!
I loaded the dishwasher with dinnerware and this is going to take days to wash and put up in the China hutch or the bottom of the buffet. No worries - .step by step. I'm putting things back a little differently than before - just because!
Cocktail Hour on the Chapman's driveway!
Tamara - where WERE you???
And Ilene???
I thought you might be out walking so we kept an eye out for you!
That's a huge strawberry for a small glass of wine!
That would be my all time favorite wine......
It's a real bargain at Aldi for just $7.99!
A reality photo of how we keep the flies off our snacks!
That catches me all up!
Wishing you all a good night!
Tomorrow starts the weekend!
What a really special birthday!! So glad to hear you are all doing well!

It's so nice all your problems are small ones. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and make plenty of new memories !
ReplyDeleteit is hard to believe it has been 10 years, and yet it seems like forever also.. hope the monitor works out well and can find out what he needs or doesn't need. we love Willie so that corner would be good for us. too funny about he hair pieces. LD looks great. YAY for your internet access and thank you Jesse. I wish we had a Midas that could be trusted. ours cheats and no matter what you needed you would have gotten a 500 dollar break job. an honest mechanic is hard to come by
ReplyDeleteYou have such delightful Grands and goodness it's been 10 years already. Looks like a wonderful party for them.
ReplyDeleteYour meals always look so good and tasty.
That was a huge strawberry gracing your wine.
LD looks divine and definitely "cleans" up well.
Hope the monitor will do its job showing exactly what needs to be shown.
Glad you have a great mechanic. We haven't found a good one that doesn't charge a gazillion bucks.
Happy weekend
Sue
