Thank You for the Prayers! Update on our Sister Nita.......

Words fail me in expressing my profound gratitude for all the prayers prayed for Nita.
We as a family are eternally grateful for each and every one of you who have supported us in this manner.

Our first report this morning was not encouraging - her oxygen and blood pressure was still low and she was on the maximum ventilator setting.

Daughter Leah, Nita, and Son Bill

Her son flew in and he joined Leah and Mike at the hospital.
Early afternoon they were all three able to lay eyes on Nita for about 15 minutes.
Her blood pressure is responding to the new meds and is almost normal.
Her 02 was at 91 and she does NOT have a blood clot in her lungs.
All excellent news!

Cardiologists were brought in and her heart looks good.
The autoimmune hepatitis is complicating the treatment of Covid.
Overall they want to keep her stable.
The first big goal is to clear the infection, then get the lungs and kidneys improving.
The doctors put Nita on kidney dialysis last night.

So all in all, things are looking much better tonight as compared to last night!
She is not out of the woods yet but I firmly believe all the prayers have made all the difference!

Thank you so much for taking the time to pray for Nita and for leaving the encouraging comments.
This has been such an emotional experience.
I admit to being so scared sometimes I could barely function.
But God has not given us a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind.
I trust God.
No matter what.
Nita trusts God and is strong in faith.

I have prayed that God will keep his angels around her bed and guard her and keep her.
Nita has had several experiences with her guardian angel.
Once when she was about 5 years old, our Aunt Viola took us to the lake to swim.
She didn't realize that we didn't know how to swim so she wasn't keeping a close eye on us.
Nita got out in water that was over her head and couldn't get back.
She told me about this experience when we were talking together about me writing my book.
Nita said that, in her young mind, she knew what to do when you were drowning.
You go under once and hold up one finger.
You go underwater twice and hold up two.
On the third time you hold up three fingers.
She knew this from watching cartoons.
Nita said she had gone under for the third time when she felt a pair of strong hands go around her waist and lift her up and pushed her forward. She felt her feet touch the bottom and then turned around to thank the person who had saved her.
No one was there.

This wasn't the only time God has saved Nita's life.
And I think he's doing it again.

This is one of Nita's favorite songs.
Thank you, Deanie, for sending it to me.
It helped me today......

  18. I am sorry I had missed your earlier post about Nita, so just went back to read it. I can imagine how scary that had to be for all of you. So thankful that prayers are being answered as we speak, and I will definitely be praying for Nita now. We know that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or think...Ephesians 3:20...The story about her guardian angel in the water with her is very powerful and I do believe it. My husband was a lifeguard at the beach when he was young and had a similar experience with a person who was drowning and he couldn't get to him fast enough, but when he got there two men were holding him up until he could get him on the life preserver. He turned around to thank them, and they were gone. He has always believed that they were angels. God does work in mysterious ways and we give Him the praise. Praying for Nita, that God will continue to work in wonderful ways in her body, in Jesus Name. Amen.

  20. I’m glad there is improvement. I’m sure you have been so worried. I had a similar experience in a lake. My older brother and I were taking swimming lessons. The teacher had me hold onto a pole in the deep end while she took my brother farther out to swim. Somehow I let go. I couldn’t touch or swim. Somehow I got back but I honestly don’t remember how. I actually though I was gone. I didn’t tell my mom or the teacher as I thought I would get in trouble. I to this day don’t like swimming in a lake.
