Friday morning routine went well and the kids arrived for school at exactly 7:30!
When I got back home this time, I went back to bed!
Lunch was such a nice meal - Amber had some seriously delicious leftovers in her fridge!
A good meal and a good book made for a good Friday!
I'm reading Sea Glass by Anita Shreve and it's keeping my attention!
I use every opportunity to sit and read for a few minutes - I do love a good book!
I left early enough for school pick up to be sitting right outside the doors when the school bell rung.
Here we are all!!!
Trystan had a little one on one time with her Daddy.
Kailey relaxing with her Chrome book watching a video.
I had my laptop on the table in the dining room and Logan asked to write a message for my blog.
Now here's a note from Logan......
Hello!! I would like to tell you about my day!
First, I had school. It was a pretty good day, after school Meemaw picked us up with a great big smile and we headed home! Then, when we got home I got on prodigy.( a game from school ) And then, I played some Fortinet with Trystan. After that we tried to play badminton but it was too windy! I did some shopping online and got my pjs on and now it is time for.... MOVIE NIGHT!!! I think of that like a sports announcer, and we are watching Moon Fall!
I love that Logan shops online.....which means she saves things to show her mommy.
Not sure how that works when she's buying a gift for her mommy!
That's what she was shopping for so I am supposing she goes through Daddy.
They are good at saving up their money and using their own funds to purchase gifts.
Mike is in charge of Friday night pizza dinner - and it takes several pizzas!!
I made pepper poppers!
Coke and popcorn at intermission!
This Friday Night routine of movie and popcorn and Cokes has been going on since Amber was 2 years old. It's a tradition that has continued for 34 years and still counting.
Saturday was relaxing - no early morning activities - everyone slept late and it was wonderful!
Easy going day!
Amber and I watched the rest of a Netflix drama - Anatomy of a Scandal.
This was so well done and interesting. I loved all the actors - they did a great job.
I loved the sets and the scenery and the fashions and the English accents!!
I went home late Saturday afternoon and look what was in my foyer!
Sherry was in town for a wedding and staying at our house.
She got these four baby chicks in Waco to replace the four of five babies she bought just a few weeks ago. Since she was heading to Dallas for a wedding, she just brought them with her! It was fun coming in the house and hearing those little cheep cheep cheeps!
I watered everything and the honeysuckle was blooming like crazy!!
Everything is growing and looking so good!
I planted a flat of coleus and I had forgotten how pretty it is!
Lettuce and herbs.....
Sunday morning I watched Fellowship Church online...... I love my church!
I did a little laundry, started the dishwasher, sacked up the trash, and cut a big basket of honeysuckle to take back to Amber.
It was midafternoon when I got back over to the Bells.
I had pulled up two big Ziplock bags of mint by the roots and planted a pot full for Amber.
I'll take the other one with me to the ranch when I go back on Tuesday and plant it there.
In a POT! Never again in the GROUND!
This is the arrangement I made with the honeysuckle for Amber's kitchen table.
I bought the green tea roses for $4.99 at Aldi's.
Amber bought these ballerina looking socks for me - three pair!
She wears them in her Pure Barre classes and they have those little dots on the bottom so you don't slide. I love them!!!
I'm glad I got over here when I did because it came a big rain with what Mike called 'Texas size drops!' I stepped out on the back porch and took this photo thinking it looks like a rain forest! They have a greenbelt for their back yard!
Mike prepared dinner tonight and it was so good.
Tortilla crusted tilapia, coconut basmati rice, garlic green beans and cantaloupe.
Look at this fancy dessert!
A 'Brookie' from Target......
it's a brownie/cookie that comes in its own little glass dish and cooks in the microwave!
A scoop of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream, the Brookie and a sprinkle of Sprinkles!
What a sweet way to end the weekend!
Another weekend charged up with things & family you love so much. I always enjoy coming here to visit. (Wishing we had some Texas sized rain drops here!)
ReplyDeleteLook at those raindrops! The green is the perfect backdrop. I enjoyed hearing from Trystan. 🙂
ReplyDeleteHave a great final week of April.
Sounds like a fun time with the children! We are watching Anatomy of a Scandal as well. We are on Episode 3. I have a stack of library books to return on Thursday. Hoping I can find some other good books.
ReplyDeleteThat is some rain! Wow!
ReplyDeleteThe kids are sweet and growing up so fast! Trystan's note was sweet.
Your arrangement of the honeysuckle and roses is so pretty! I love it.
I've never had a Brookie! Sounds delicious!
Hope Amber is healing well and look at the size of those raindrops! Your movie night tradition is very special and know everyone looks forward to it. Yes, mint can be very invasive so pots are your best bet.
ReplyDeleteglad to hear you had the weekend off back at home to check on The Man. that movie night things is fantastic and going on so long. my home life never had anything like that so i did not do anything with my kids. love the chicks. love the rain forest. love the fact Mike helps with cooking, sounds delish.
ReplyDeleteWhat a weekend..delightful.
ReplyDeleteEvery meal, no matter how simple, is fit for a king..Beautiful honeysuckle arrangement. I'll be it smelled delicious.
34 years of Friday movie night..amazing...I love the family get togethers and the traditions. There is nothing like it. I'm glad I was raised that way too. It's like the glue that keeps us all together.
