While we originally meant to be at the ranch on Monday...and then Tuesday....and then Wednesday and Thursday.....things kept happening until we finally arrived today - on Friday!
Louis Dean lost his keys to the truck and spent just about all of Wednesday looking for them.
He finally gave up and took the extra key I keep in my purse to make a copy on Thursday.
This delay allowed me to clean and decorate one more room - the kitchen!
To celebrate, I cut a bouquet of herbs from my garden to put beside the kitchen sink.
And, of course, I lit a candle!
Apple pumpkin and it smells so homey.
Like something sweet is cooking in there.
Chilly weater = comfy cover and sox + a fireplace and another Hallmark Christmas movie!
I baked up a big batch of pumpkin muffins last night before I went to bed,
using the container Louis Dean's birthday cake came in to transport them.
These will be going to Hamilton, Texas on Saturday for Thanksgiving with Sherry's family....
and we are blessed to be included!
This morning I found a delivery from Amazon on my front porch that I had not ordered!
The timing was perfect!
This gorgeous mug featuring two darling cardinals are from my friend Dee Dee and I just love it!
Since it is already so speciall to me, I brought it with me to the ranch and will be drinking from it in the morning.
We started off our weekend with a late breakfast at Joe's Coffee Shop on Irving Blvd.
Louis Dean was a happy camper!
Turns out, one of my Facebook friends recognized her husband in the background!
It really is a small small world.
We drove straight through to the Rest Area in Hillsboro and then on to HEB in Bellmead.
We came in and I cozied up the place by lighting candles and turning on all my thousand points of light.
I spruced up this area in the bathrrom.......it's all about bees!
And my friend, Linda of Tennesseee; sent me these lovely bee coasters!
Aren't they adorable?? That was so sweet of her to think about me!
And , since it was a chilly night, we opted to have our evening wine in front of the Dearborn heater in our camper/cabin. For some silly reason it makes me smile to sit in here drinking wine in the bathroom!
As sson as it got dark, I strung up a whole mess of colored LED lights.
This is such a beautiful time of the year!
I know it looks pretty from the outside with the colored lights shining on the inside! I don't know if Sherry and Dean can see your lights shining at night, but I know it's cozy looking out there. I know even the animals love to see you all come to the ranch! ๐
ReplyDeleteIndeed, it's a beautiful time of year...a happy time for most. I feel sorry for those that can't find it in their hearts to enjoy...even if it's a candle or two ...or lights, to bring on a festive atmosphere!!

ReplyDeleteWell, I know you had other plans for timing at the ranch, but thankfully it worked out so well. Enjoy your Thanksgiving meal today with Sherry’s family.
Wow, your colored lights are awesome! It must be very dark there at night, as there of course would be no street lights! The bee coasters are adorable, and could even be put in a small plate rack and hung up. I love your christmas pitcher, now I want to get one!!
ReplyDeleteYour decorations and lights are so pretty
