It's such a special thing to receive a totally unexpected package arrive in the mail!
This light as air box was on the porch this weekend and it held two tiny glass honeybees!
I love the handwritten card that came with them even more!
This was from our Family Friend, Joni!
She is related to my sister, Nita, by marriage but we ALL feel like Joni belongs to us as a family.
Joni won the Christmas painting at our Fort Worth Family Chinese Christmas Tree a few years ago.
And this reminds me, I ordered canvas prints of my Santa's Express painting so I will be doing a giveaway post soon.
I am liking the hall gallery wall I hung on Saturday,
All of these paintings are old ones I have done......
Some from the 80's and 90's even.
This large blue winter scene at this end of the wall has hung in the dining roomever since I painted it in 1988! It really IS time to change things around here a bit!
Can you see all the nicks and chips in this frame?
I painted this snow scene in 1985 and have always hung it in a gold frame.
However, this is the second one that is biting the dust. Sometimes, when Louis Dean knocks them off, the frames come apart at the corners. Other times they just get beat up.
We watched Fellowship Church online this morning and the message was on anxiety and worry.
While I am not a worry wart at heart, sometimes we all can get caught up with concerns that we can do very little about.
I have always loved the Prayer of Serenity, but this is the first time I have seen and read the entire prayer. I am going to print this out and memorize it this week.
After church, I did some housework - routine stuff like making the bed and emptying the dishwasher and things like that. Then I dressed in sweat pants and a Dallas Cowboy t-shirt.......
and made us all hamburgers!
Summer suggested I use Lipton's dry onion soup mix - so I did!
I'm not the one who normally cooks hamburgers around here but these turned out every bit as good as any Louis Dean cooks! I simply mixed the dry soup mix and 1/2 cup of white wine to the ground beef!
Win! WIN!!! It was really good!
Then we three took our plates in and started watching the Cowboys vs Panthers football game I had set to record.
It's fun to be a Dallas Cowboys fan again!!
They WON!!!
I admit to sneaking a peak at my phone to check on the final score about halfway into the game.
Once it was over, I went in and took the most delicious nap!
I almost just stayed in bed but figured, if I did, I'd be up in the middle of the nap!
See that pick up truck with the pumpkins?
That's where the blue snow scene canvas had hung for so many years.
The other side of the sign is like a blackboard with a quote about making memories around the table.
I'll probably turn it around tomorrow.
So I worked my way through the dining room and into the sewing room today.
Cleaning and do the odd and end thing in each room.
I spent some time sewing on a denim quilt for a baby girl and may go back in there and sew some more before I go to bed.
Thank you so much for your prayers for my unspoken request.
We had a bit of a health scare but all is well and I am so very thankful.
Life is fragile.
Handle with prayer.....
Your wall of paintings is so expertly done. I would never be able to do it, or even how to start. As for changing it, why mess with a good thing? I didn't even know there was more of this saying! I am so glad your scare turned out well.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad all is well, Linda. We also had a hard week with covid breakthrough in a few family members. Thankfully they are all doing well now. I will be getting the booster as soon as I can.
ReplyDeleteYou are a very talented painter! I love your new bee header too.
Hi there Linda, just stopping in to catch up with you and Louis Dean and see what y'all have been up to! Love that picture of Summer---she seems like such a fun person! Enjoyed all the ranch/country pictures too, in the previous post. Always seems so quiet and peaceful out there. Enjoy seeing your beautiful paintings too, you are such an amazing artist. I know how you love September, but wow, looks like October has come on in!! LOL
ReplyDeleteDidn't know Summer's with you! Those hamburgers sounded good.
ReplyDeleteI wish you could take single photos of all your paintings and put in a Facebook album or share them on here. I know I have not seen them all!
Glad your health scare isn't scary anymore.
Sending love!!
Love, love, LOVE your walls/paintings. Like going into an art gallery!!!
ReplyDeleteThose burgers look and sound darned good!!
Be well...one and all.
So glad all is good and you are all doing well. Health scares are the worst!! Loved seeing a close up of your gallery wall.
ReplyDeleteNever thought about how many years you have been painting...that is a lot of inspiration! What a sweet gift from your friend and so unexpected.
ReplyDeleteSometimes there is nothing more that we can do is pray. With God all things are possible. Nothing means more to me than friends who join in praying. It means the world to me.
ReplyDeleteYou are more than welcome. It is a privilege to pray.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering about your nicked frame...if perhaps that Rubb n'Buff product would cover it all up without too much hassle.
Winter scenes are uncommon...Most of us have summer scenes. I have one winter scene set up on the piano. (It's small.)
Happy cleaning!
Since this is an ongoing problem with elderly falling up against your paintings have you thought about getting a railing and stalls that runs down and sticks out from the wall that he can run his hand along. They have them in the nursing homes they have metal railings that stick about 4 inches out and he could just run his hand down the railing you could even put something there that he may just a wooden dowel or something he could hold on and not fall against the paintings.
ReplyDeleteYour painting wall is lovely. I know you smile as you walk down your hallway.
ReplyDeleteRest well - health scares can be overwhelming.
Blessings,
Shari
Your Gallery Wall is amazing. Linda you are a fantastic artist...Love them all.
ReplyDeleteSo glad your prayer was answered.
Isn't it wonderful to have friends praying right along side you?
I guess I am extra hungry..the hamburgers with wine and soup mix sound divine. I think I will have to try that flavor combo.
Enjoy your day.

Linda, you are an amazing woman. God has granted you so many wonderful gifts, and you use every one of them to bless other people. What a wonderful example of love and graciousness. You "Hall of Fame" paintings are beautiful, and each canvas a part of you!
ReplyDeleteSo glad God answered your unspoken request. He bends low to hear the faintest prayer. Only God knows the answer is given before we even request it!!
I use Lipton soup for meatloaf, and hamburgers. Also on roast with a can of Asparagus soup and a can of beef consumae makess a great gravy.
Taking a break from blogging for October. Doing things that have been on my heart that takes more personal time. Look forward to jumping back in November.
Even though I'm not blogging this month...I like to visit when I can.
Love and Hugs
Glad you are both fine. Thank you for the idea of putting white wine into burgers - I am going to try that sometime in the next week. Cheers
