I love a fresh haircut!
My hairdresser, Yulisa, is so good!
My hair has been thinning for a few years now and I have tried different ways to make it look fuller.
A good haircut works best. Amber gave me some dry shampoo that is a big help. I bought a couple of wiglets and wore them last year. That worked, too.
I like it a little fuller on top since that gives me more hair to fluff over the thin area.
But I can't stand hair on my neck!
Even when I had long hair back in my younger years, I most always had it twisted up in a French braid or a pony tail.
After I left the beauty shop, I went to my second physical therapy session.
I met a lady in the waiting room who is older like I am and she had such a pretty hairstyle!
It was short in the back and parted on the side and the sides swung down around her face.
She said her hair was thinning also and that she didn't use any products other than a blow dryer.
No brush. She just blow dries it and kind of fixes it and then lightly blows it again.
It certainly worked for her because she looked like she just came out of the salon!
My therapist said I am doing very well.
My knee is pretty much straight now. I'm just building up strength in it now.
However, I overdid it on the exercises and ended up with my knee hurting the rest of the afternoon and evening......more than it's hurt in weeks!
Note to self - don't try to be an overachiever.
I came home and took a nap before getting back to my housework.
Louis Dean helped me clean out the refrigerator. It is so tall and the shelves are so deep I can't reach them all. I do so admire a clean fridge but I seldom have one myself.
Ours is usully full of jar after jar of different preserves and all sorts of bottles.
I bought a bottle of fish sauce for a recipe last year. A whole bottle and it called for one teaspoon!
I went to bed early and got up early this morning.
As in 7:30!
I took my coffee out and toured the flower beds in the front and back yard.
It's exciting to see signs of spring.
I cut and packaged a bag of rosemary, parsley and mint to take with us to the ranch.
Louis Dean slept later than I did and when he staggered down the hall he said, "I think I'm getting sick!" I told him I was sorry I gave him what I had and he said, "You didn't GIVE it to me, Honey! I TOOK it!"
We debated for a minute or two whether to go to the ranch but he decided he could feel bad anywhere.
Plus after he had a cup of coffee and some stupor time - he felt a lot better!
He had loaded the truck Monday so all we had to do was close up the house and get our bags in and we were ready to go.
On our way home from the ranch last time, we noticed a Mexican restaurant and made mention we would eat there on our way down this trip. Except we couldn't remember if it was an El Chico or an El Fenix or if it was on Interstate 20 or 35!
So we opted to stop at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen just to make sure we ate before we got too far down the road.
It's a tradition that I get a frozen margarita and it was a good one!
We didn't get our Mexican food but we did spy the El Chico just a little ways down the road.
It's on I35 in De Soto, Texas!
Next time!
While we planned on driving on to Belmead and shopping the HEB there, Louis Dean was fretting about the traffic so I suggested we get off the Interstate at Milford and come in on the back roads.
Much better!!
I ran into Read's Grocery on Texas Avenue and picked up milk and bread and such.
I noticed they had pork roast for $1.29 a pound and had just put one in my buggy when my phone rang. It was Dean wondering where we were.....and when I said Read's....he mentioned the pork roast were on sale so I picked up a couple for him. Win! WIN!!
We arrived and unloaded before dark and before the rain had settled in.
It had just begin to fall as we shut the truck up.
Dean came down after he finished the critter chores and visited with us for a few minutes.
They have new baby chicks!
Americanas and Bantys
These are Dean's photos he posted earlier today on his At the Ranch page on Facebook.
It's only 8:45 and we are snug as a bug in the camper/cabin.
The Dearborn heater is running in the bathroom out in the cabin part and the electric heater Summer gave us is on in the camper.
I guess you could call us country bumpkins.......
we sat in the bathroom in front of the heater to have our evening glass of wine tonight!
Works for me!!
I love your cute haircut, and the lovely flowers you have in your garden. So glad you had a good trip and are enjoying your stay at the ranch. See you again soon! Have a pleasant week.
ReplyDeleteOh you are both so cute! Drinking wine in the bathroom by the heater! I love that you enjoy life! I believe we honor God when we enjoy what he’s given us!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks good! I have the same issue with my hair on top! A good cut makes a lot of difference!
I like your hair style; my hair is thinning too. What a romantic spot (ha ha) to drink wine while staying warm.
ReplyDeleteI do love your new haircut - the back especially is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGreat ending to your day Linda. Great haircut. Hope LD is feeling better. Sleep well.
ReplyDeleteHugs.

Your stylists does a great job on your hair. I love my short hair, and don't like it on my neck either. When I had my long hair, it was usually up in a twist! I do like "big hair" on top!!
ReplyDeleteYour ranch trips and all the critters always make me smile.
So glad to see it's happy place time.
ReplyDeleteCalling for a little snow here Thursday night, but I'm doubting it. Our forsythia's in bloom and the spring flowers look pretty in your yard!
Spring is busting out early and I can't believe March will soon be here.💕
Enjoy your down time, and give the horses a carrot for me!
That is adorable....the cocktail hour in front of a little heater and in the bathroom no less...just like two kids in love...love it!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great! My mom has thinning hair that bothered her enough to go to a specialist for treatments for a couple of years. I can't really say it looks any thicker to me, but the doctor told her it was 30% thicker. She's done with treatment for now, but can go back if she thinks it's thinning again. Her solution has been to keep it very short (shorter than her husband's), but I think a little length would help. She could then curl it and fluff it and have some volume. Of course that all takes time and she's always been a person who just blow dries it and combs it. Too each their own, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteSo true...a good haircut can boost your day. I never had very thick hair to start with and like you it is getting thinner, just part of the aging process I guess. Glad you made it safe and sound to the ranch and I can just see you both in front of the heater:)
ReplyDeleteas I read the word space heater is on, our AC came on and is running. we are having 80's every day and high humidity. the oak trees are confused and think it is march so we are suffering our march allergies. so glad LD felt better after he moved around, early am is my worst time, takes about 15 minutes to get RIGHT. yay for being in the country with new little chicks. glad you had a safe trip... she does such a beautiful job cutting your hair and I love the back. I have not shown the back of my hair because itlooks so bad I am glad I never see it... I can't stand hair on my neck either
ReplyDeleteI just got the bottom layer of my hair trimmed off. It was driving me crazy. I love the shorter bob. Your new do looks great. So glad you were able to head to your happy place. We leave tomorrow for Grimmwood. Cant wait.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I just adore you and LD...sitting your wine in the bathroom. We do what we have to do, right? I like your hair , it does look so nice and fresh. Ted and I have found a back way to the Franciscan hospital in Indy. It takes us a bit longer, but the cars are not going 80 miles and hour like the interstate. Easier on my nerves. Wow, I can not believe all the pretty signs of spring at your house. I am ready for nicer days and sitting out once in awhile. Blessings to you and yours, love you guys, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeletep.s. Thank you so much for the card, you touched my heart girl.
Your hair always looks wonderful so your hairstylist is to be congratulated. So glad to see you back act your happy place again so soon. Those fresh herbs from your garden sound wonderful. Here nothing is growing as it is much too cold. I've tried to grow them indoors but it never works.Keep warm, relax and enjoy your stay.
ReplyDeleteYou and LD are such Dears...I love your ending to this post..
ReplyDeleteThe Best Country Bumpkins around..sitting in the bathroom sipping wine (:0)
Take it easy with that knee of yours and I sure hope LD will feel better.
Enjoy your Ranch time.
Sue
I was wondering whether swimming would be good for your knee - I find swimming helpful all round because it's not weight bearing... Just a thought. Have a lovely time in the country. Cheers
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. Your hair is lovely with no visible evidence of thinning. I have a similar challenge. Had a laugh about the bathroom treat. We van camp and our efforts to stay warm do lead to some interesting strategies for maintaining enjoyable routines!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time at the ranch! You two just keep on keeping on! I often look for the 'roads less traveled' these days as well...and enjoy the journey rather than stressing about the traffic.
ReplyDeleteOh Linda, you are just the cutest little thing! Love your hair. Your garden flowers are beautiful. We still have some deep snow up here. Take it easy on your knee, girlie. Try not to over do. The chicks are so cute, but they sure do grow fast, don't they? Have a nice time at your camper/cabin. Hopefully you won't have to spend all of your time in the bathroom to stay warm...lol.

In this manner my partner Wesley Virgin's autobiography starts with this SHOCKING and controversial video.
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact, Wesley was in the military-and soon after leaving-he unveiled hidden, "self mind control" tactics that the government and others used to get anything they want.
As it turns out, these are the exact same methods lots of famous people (notably those who "became famous out of nothing") and the greatest business people used to become rich and successful.
You've heard that you utilize only 10% of your brain.
That's really because most of your BRAINPOWER is UNCONSCIOUS.
Perhaps that conversation has even taken place INSIDE OF YOUR very own head... as it did in my good friend Wesley Virgin's head about 7 years back, while riding an unlicensed, garbage bucket of a car without a driver's license and $3.20 in his bank account.
"I'm so frustrated with going through life check to check! Why can't I become successful?"
You took part in those types of conversations, right?
Your own success story is waiting to start. All you need is to believe in YOURSELF.
