Scenes From Puerto Rico, Rayne's Birthday and my Painted Camper Door

I appreciate Summer sharing her photos with me so I can share them here with you!

Puerto Rico is a big tourist destination and rightly so.
Here is a short tour of Old San Juan.....

There are flowers everywhere in Puerto Rico.
This is near Humacao.

Street scene in Old San Juan.

Jazz street musician.

Beautiful day, wonderful breeze and not very crowded.

Maui! You never know what you're going to see in Puerto Rico!

Gelato + Chocolate = Dessert!!

Summer and Sabrina entertained their first guests from home!
Everyone had a ball and I had so much fun following them on Facebook.

New food!

Reasonable prices!

And now for Rayne's Birthday Celebration!

She had a special Chocolate Chip Birthday Cake/Cookie!!

Oh, MY!!! WHAT do I wish for???

Pop the Pig Game!

That girl does love dinosaurs!

Uh -oh!

Rayne is having a great summer!
She is in a camp and loves every thing about living in Puerto Rico!

They look relaxed and happy.

I'm glad they shared these photos with all of us.

Love that sweet little face!

****Update on Summer****

She has been pacing herself and the day trip to Old San Juan was her first really active outing since she arrived down there on May 30th. They use a golf cart to go back and forth from some activities there at home and that's pretty hard on her back but she is managing. Also, their home only has 4 steps up and she's grateful for that! I'm encouraging her to start a blog and share her new adventure!
In the meantime, I will continue to feature updates here on mine.

Now for our Country Monday!
The weather is warming up and I am running the AC nearly all the time now.
The nights are amazing and Louis Dean and I stayed up into the early hours of Monday morning - as in 2:30 am before we finally called it a night and came in and went to bed. That meant it was 10:30 before I got up but it doesn't really matter - we are on Country Time!

My main accomplishments today were washing the 5th window and tacking up its curtain/valance.....

and painting the camper door.
I love it!!
Tomorrow I'm going to paint the inside which means I can stay in under the AC.
Later this week it is going to be 97 degrees! At least we haven't hit 100 yet.
Louis Dean has ordered the remaining building materials to finish up his projects....the bathroom and added decks for both doors - we will have one facing east and the one facing north which is where we park the truck. He's also building a storage shed for our bikes and chairs and such.

I just had to take a picture of the toilet when Louis Dean placed it out there in what will be the new bathroom! He laid out boards to show where the window would be and walls.

Louis Dean has been working hard but he seems to enjoy it.
He paces himself and takes lots of breaks.
Dean is down here tonight and he and his dad are sitting out on the deck talking.
They have bartered with a neighbor who came over yesterday for a good solid door for us to use.
Things just keep moving right along!

  1. Brilliant and artistic shots of Puerto Rico! I do love that sculpture! We have both Pop The Pig and Pie Face! They are the girls favorite games, and they are always begging to play them! We have to remember to keep a fresh can of Reddi Whip in the fridge! Love the door, and it matches your furniture inside; the table, chairs, and chushions!!

  2. Thanks for your comment on my post! Yes, it was one of those small circuses that travels around. It was SO hot, and many of the circus people were so dressed up, and doing stunts etc. A hard way to make a living.

  4. It's fun keeping up with you. If you're going to have a real functioning bathroom does that mean you're putting in a septic tank? Loved seeing the update on Summer and her tribe. Puerto Rico looks like a beautiful place. I did find the narrow streets interesting. Looking forward to seeing what you get into next. Our daughter left today to go back to Texas after two weeks here and in Victoria Canada. Our temps are in the 60s. She's going to find Texas temps in the 90s hard to take.

  5. Rayne is pretty as she can be! Glad to hear she's doing great after the move. Puerto Rico looks really interesting.

Louis and Dean are rolling right along. I know you can't wait to get it finished so you can decorate it all. Glad for the new bathroom and to new decks! I know you can't wait to have company come!

  7. Linda, Nice to see Summer doing well. That Rayne does have a sweet face.Glad she loved her gifts. You and LD are amazing...working so hard, and in that heat. I water flowers and sweep the porch when it's this hot and pretty much call it a day for outside work. I miss the good old days when I could do so much more. That room is going to be so very nice. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie
