Summer called me from the hospital this morning to let me know she might be coming home today instead of tomorrow. I jumped right in on getting the master bedroom clean and ready.
I switched the flannel sheets out for cool high count Egyptian cotton ones....Summer does not like to be hot! I changed out the white spread for a green one I picked up at Goodwill recently and added some other green touches to liven the room up a bit. I have baskets and containers to hold her stuff and we even had a tray to serve her breakfast in bed in the morning. Do you think she realizes it will be a LATE breakfast??
Sabrina picked Summer up and they were headed my way.
The hospital staff and doctors were all excellent!!
She arrived in good spirits and has remained so all the way to the end of the day!
Summer found the den recliner very comfortable and we sat in here for an hour or better before she relaxed and started to nod off to sleep.
That's when she went to bed to nap for about three hours.
It was some serious napping. Birds singing outside the door so she didn't need the sound machine.
It has been a cool day in Texas so only the ceiling fan was on and it was quite comfortable.
The temperature in the house has remained at 66-69 degrees all day.
Perfect for her! She's like me - I had rather be too cold than too hot!
While she slept, I went to work in the kitchen making up a batch of healthy vegetable beef soup.
Not stew - but soup.
It had potatoes - not many since she is diabetic and the starch turns to sugar - and carrots, cabbage, zucchini, tomatoes, broccoli, and some BEEF!
It was good AND healthy!
She ate it right up. So did Louis Dean and I!!
Then we did what we love to do - watch a movie together.
All my kids love the Bond movies and Daniel Craig is my all time very favorite!
That's because I think he looks like my Benjamin!!
It's something about the lips.....and the eyes.....and those dimples....and the coloring...
So happy Summer is home! She is in good hands❤The soup sounds yummy 😃
ReplyDeleteDaniel Craig DOES look like Benjamin!! You have your very own James Bond. When you are sick, there is nothing in all the world like a mother's love and pampering. She will get better very quickly under your care, you think of everything! A gorgeous and cool bedroom and hot homemade soup made by mom are the best prescriptions there are!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to be here and healing. My Mom is the best. Soft soft sheets, smells so good and so clean! She has me all unpacked and everything in its place. Best of all she has HGTV!
ReplyDeleteLinda, So happy to know that Summer is well enough to leave the hospital. She looks cute and happy too. Soup, we eat a lot of that here. :):) You know I love one pan or pot cooking. Ben is a cutie . All your children have pretty dimples. Put your own feet up when you can. Hugs to all. Love you guys, blessings, xoxo, Susie

ReplyDeleteIs Benjamin going to kill you? Ha! Something about being at "mom's house" is very healing and I know that you and Louis Dean are going to take very good care of each other and Summer, too. Ongoing prayers...
