We went to sleep last night (Sunday) to the sounds of a raging storm.
This morning we woke up to see several branches and tree limbs on the ground by our hotel room window. A tornado had hit an area less than 5 miles from where we were. God was gracious to us and I don;t think there were any lives lost.
We planned last night to leave about 9:00 this morning and that's exactly when we were leaving our hotel! I am so grateful that - as I was going through the door with my mini bag holding all my credit cards and stuff - that I remembered my PURSE!!! THAT held all the important things!!! My make up bag and iPAd and other stuff!!! I asked for a key card and went right back in to retrieve it!!!
We had breakfast at Mi Tierra for our farewell party!
It is open 24/7/365!!
Mi Tierra is my FAVORITE place in San Antonio!
It is always like a party here!!!
We ordered off the breakfast menu and it was good!
Celebrating our last meal together!!
I absolutely LOVE this photo!!! Sandra from the Mad Snapper could do SO much with this pic!!
I like seeing the lights reflected in the coffee!
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed being with my siblings these few days!
We had such a good time together and we shared memory after memory!!!
I have so much material to add to the book!
We were all surprised how fast the weekend went! It FLEW by!!!
It was time for us to head home to our individual lives.
We all - all four of us - had loving spouses waiting for us.
We always stop at Buc-ee's!!!
They have the best rest rooms in Texas!!
Our Rest Areas are amazing, too!!!
A little stretching after sitting so long in the car!
Aren't they adorable???
Deanie is super flexible!!!
I can touch my toes, too!!!
How about you?
I'm 68 and she is 65.
If we don;t USE it at our age - we WILL lose it!!
Note to self***** Work out more!!
While we were driving home, Louis Dean was over in Quadville keeping the kids while Amber and Mike took in a movie. This pic is from 4 years ago but Granddad was still holding on to all four babies as I talked to them all this afternoon!
These are some of the pastries I brought home from Mi Tierra.
They are delicious!!!
It was good to be home!
Louis Dean picked me up from Nita's in Fort Worth.
He had driven - for I don't know how long - with the parking brakes on!
When we came in the house, he said he hoped it wasn't in too bad a shape, It wasn't!
If it hadn't been for the bottle of Worcestershire Sauce that he spilled in the fridge - and if it hadn't been that it spilled from a top shelf that then dribbled it down to the wide shelf on the bottom and then dripped into the two drawers - it wouldn't have been too bad. That took a good 45 minutes to clean up!
The rest was only a matter of half an hour.
I told Louis Dean - this is your home! Did you enjoy your time 'home alone?'
He cooked pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn bread and steak.
He pretty much cleaned up after himself. He did the laundry. I folded and put it up. He bought groceries. He baked chicken. I made a salad tonight and served it with some of his cooked chicken.
We had wine in our gazebo and celebrated our evening together! It was wonderful!
All four of us are blessed to be home with our spouses tonight.
Nita with her sweet Mike.
Lonnie with his beloved bride, Michele.
Deanie with her devoted Charlie.
And me with my soul mate, Louis Dean.
We are already making plans for our Sibling Trip - February 2018 - to Galveston!!
Now for the videos that wouldn't upload earlier!
They may be out of sequence but here they are!

I saw the news this morning of the 100 million dollars of damage done in San Antonio and instantly thought of the four of you. I am so relieved you are all ok
ReplyDeleteI was a very lonely child, and have always wanted a sibling. You are so very blessed, and you know and appreciate it to the fullest! Your sibs are so fun loving! Mi Tierra looks amazing! They even served you coffee with a festival inside, ha ha!! That really is a great capture! Deanie really has some MOVES. I know Louis Dean will enjoy those pastries. He is such an excellent cook! Did his mom teach him? God is so good...that tornado totally missed you! I can touch my toes too! But Phil cannot, even though he is the athlete of the family.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I got a big knot in my tummy when I heard about the storms...I told Ted..that is where Linda and her siblings are right now. So glad in my heart that each of you have wonderful loving spouses. I know LD was a good boy while you were gone , but I bet he's happy you are back home. Blessings to all, love you, xoxo, Susie
