I am so thankful that I took Monday and Tuesday off, rested and finally started to get over the head cold/allergies I have been down with since last Sunday! No Quad Monday and no Tuesday Treasures.
I didn't even make up my bed for days! I'd get up for a little while and then slip back under the covers and nap. I have grossly underestimated the value of REST!
I did accomplish a few things while I was down and out, though.
While it is not nearly as much fun to take fall down as it is to put it up, I did it anyway!
I can't tell you how proud I am of Louis Dean - and myself! - for getting the old storage building cleared out and cleaned up so I could store my huge collection of 'debris' in there!!!
I only photographed the part that is clean and usable.
This is only about a third of the space that will be available. We will finish the rest of this clean up project this winter. At long last I will be able to store ALL seasonal decorations in areas that are accessible for me to take them out and put them up all by myself - if need be.
Louis Dean helped me so much by storing it away. I just put it all in the tubs or bags.
The house is now a blank canvas just waiting to be dressed for Christmas - which will begin tomorrow afternoon.
This morning I left the house by 10:00 heading for Quadville.
Amber's day was chock full with back to back appointments. First the vet and then the Children's ENT for Kailey. She swung by her house to leave Bandit The Cat and pick me up.
It was a good day for coloring.
First at the doctor's office......and later at lunch.
Our next stop was the Tea Place just up the street where we all got fancy flavored tea. Mine was a blueberry/pomegranate while Amber opted for a coconut flavored tea.
Then it was lunch at the Greek Restaurant right beside where we got our tea.
Our fourth and final destination was the movies!!
While Amber got the tickets, I took the kids to the video arcade.
They had so much fun and it didn't cost a dime!!
They are young enough to be impressed by all the lights and action.
They will learn about tokens soon enough!
We saw Pete's Dragon and we ALL loved it!
It was a good day and it was nice to be out and about.
My hat's off to Amber for all the energy she puts into her days.
She shared on Facebook an article about her life with quadruplets you might find interesting.
In other news, Summer finally got the injections for her back yesterday.
She has really been through as tough a time as she has ever had physically.
Being in pain for so long affects your mind and emotions.
It's only been a day so there's not any improvement yet.....but we are hoping there will be very soon.
Thank you for the kind words and prayers for my daughter.
Now! While I was gone all day, WHAT was Louis Dean doing??
Baking dinner rolls for the Thanksgiving meal at Nita's tomorrow.
AND he picked up at least 2 gallons of pecans from the front yard!
Now it's time for me to get in the kitchen and prepare the potato dish that I will take for the meal.
Facebook
I love all the recipes I see on Facebook and actually make some of them!!!
Wishing you and yours a lovely Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you! I hope to see Pete's Dragon one day! And hey, who says one can't go without making their bed for a few days?! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and your precious family!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting article Amber has written! And she is so wise! We did not try to fit ours into a mold either, just fed and put to bed whenever he was ready. It looks like this is some kind of magazine she has written for. In the past, I had a horrible bout with Plantar Fascitis, so I know all about that. It got to be extreme and severe. But it looks like she has it under control. Our two littlest are just like this at the arcade! They just like the lights and moving the wheels and dials, they do not really play. Time for that later. Looks like we are both putting out our Christmas things tomorrow! In between decorating times, the house looks so bare! NOT good! The Quads are coloring really good and also neatly. Louis Dean's rolls look amazing! Hoping you have a great Thanksgiving weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got the rest you needed, Linda. I had a spell last week and weekend where I couldn't sleep at all. I'm wondering if it was a side affect of an antibiotic I was taking for bronchitis (or both). I had 4 hours in five days. Finally we came home from the lake on Monday and I crawled into bed for 24 hours. Slept like a baby. It was wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour day with Amber and the quads wore me out. I hope I can do this grandmahood thing as well as you!
Prayers for Summer and bless that LD in all that he does to keep the wheels turning.
Have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope your Thanksgiving Day is wonderful. You've had a very busy time leading up to it. Prayers for healing for Summer, and for strength for the day for you. I don't know how you do it all, and thanks for Louis Dean, who really does help keep the wheels turning. I can smell those rolls. What a wonderful family you have. You are a perfect example of making the most of every day. You are a blessing to so many.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family, Linda. May you truly be on the mend now. Summer has my prayers and my sympathies. Back pain is such a bear. The birthday boy makes the most beautiful rolls and I am very certain that they taste as delicious as they look.
ReplyDeleteAmber's article was wonderful. I read every word of it. I am very concerned about your Summer. I'm afraid she may lose her wonderful smile. What are her options if the shots don't work? Always enjoy pictures of the quads. I see LD has not lost his touch making bread. I'd be real interested to know how the slow cooker potato recipe turns out. Our daughter is flying in tomorrow so I'm fixing pulled pork in my slow cooker. Our son is doing the airport run. Just before noon I'll go pick up his wife and son. We'll have pulled pork sandwiches & visit. On Sunday we'll have the traditional turkey and dressing meal.
ReplyDeleteI know that you will enjoy the entire day of USA's Thanksgiving. There is so much to be thankful for these days. Friends, family, a wonderful country...days of sweet dreams and happiness.
ReplyDeleteTake care and hope real soon you will feel much better.
I love rolls better than turkey and if you gave me a choice of just one, I would go for the rolls. I like how you and Amber turn a doc visit into a fun day out for you and the kids. have a wonderful day today and waiting to see the Chrismtas go up. I need some get up and go and desire. I always decorate the nook on TG day and I am thinking about not doing it at all...
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and yours:)
ReplyDeleteLinda, Wishing all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. It's so good you got some healing rest. I like that you have room for your decoration totes. That's handy. That LD sure can cook. Those rolls look better than cake. Wishing you a great time with your families. Blessings to all, love you guys, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteLinda, wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving. I should buy shares in a storage tub company - there is clearly a major market for it! Cheers from Carole's Chatter
ReplyDeleteHappy 🦃 Thanksgiving !
ReplyDeleteI will read Ambers article in a few minutes. I can't imagine the time she must put in with those quads. I know how much time my one granddaughter takes. She is 18 months old and it is hard to take her anywhere these days as she does not understand sit. LOL!
