I'm starting out this AFTERNOON journal post with a pic of my sweet sister!!
She is, indeed, MRS. CLEAN!!!
Even off on a little pleasure trip, she carries a good supply of her trusty Clorox Wipes to sanitize her hotel room!
We are back to square one on Mother's Medicaid application. We tracked it to Midland where it was forwarded to another address and then sent back to the DFW area, it is now sitting up at the local post office waiting for me to pick it up.
Return to Sender!!! Address Unknown!!
What is up with THAT???
I'm going to pick it up this afternoon and then I will have to find a GOOD address to mail it off again. Who KNEW the one listed on their official government wed site would be incorrect??
I should have known!
Speaking of Mother.......
she's been doing very well.
Deanie took her to do a little shopping the other day and Mother picked out new bed coverings.
She dearly loves to get pretty new things!!
Mother has also been enjoying the adult coloring books I got her.
It was a rough start at first but I think she has now totally embraced this colorful pastime!
Yesterday as Louis Dean and I sat out in the gazebo with our coffee, I spied our first first gecko visitor INSIDE the gazebo this year!!!
He was on the outside of the netting at first and that didn't really qualify him as a first guest - BUT
he slowly inched up and OVER the edge!!
We have a contest every year as to who spots the first one and I WON!!!
Summer and I have a contest as to who hears the first locust of the season.
I'm still listening.
Yesterday afternoon I went over to Quadville in time to go with Amber to pick them up at school!
Kids love their silly faces!!!
Can't leave these faces out!!!
Trystan is always so appropriate that THIS is as silly as it gets for her!
Amber and I worked long and hard on hauling stuff out of the garage and starting the process of sorting and pricing things for a HUGE garage sale they will be having!
It was a little overwhelming but we made a huge dent in it!
I called on my knight in shining armor to come help and he came galloping up in his big white truck!!
Amber cooked a really great dinner for all of us - grilled steak, roasted garlic potatoes and fresh pineapple! She said she really appreciated me coming over and that she didn't know I would be there that long and she really didn't know she was getting Louis Dean!!! HE said, "I didn't know that EITHER!!!"
We worked some more after dark and came home at 10:00! I went straight to the shower and then we had a glass of wine in the gazebo before hitting the hay!!!
I stayed in bed until 10:30 this morning!
Louis Dean got right back to work on wiring the gazebo!
By early afternoon he had it all on!!
I already had two outlets in there but we need one for the chandelier.
While he was at it - he installed plenty more so I can light up that gazebo just like a Christmas tree now!
Now you can turn on the chandelier with a flick of the switch!!
He still has the conduit to put in the ground but he has done enough for this day!
Now he is resting and as soon as traffic is over we will be heading back over to Quadville to help Amber finish what we started!!
Once again, she is cooking dinner for us and I baked a Devil's Food cake for dessert and taking some gourmet cheese and crackers to snack on.
We are basking in the glow of GETTING THINGS DONE!!!
That's a good feeling!
Oh how I wish I lived near you. I would be at that garage sale. I'm sure Amber has lots of treasures to sell. I have never seen an electrified gazebo. Leave it to LD to figure that out. It's wonderful! Enjoy your dinner at Amber's.
ReplyDeleteIt must be wonderful to have as much energy as the two of you have. Always fun to see what you're doing. Do you have fans in the gazebo? I would think it would be too hot in Texas to enjoy the gazebo during the summer.
ReplyDeleteOOOHHH Geckos...that would freak me out big time. They are not as cute as the one on the commercials. And I feel your pain with government business, hopefully you will get it to the correct channel. Garage sales...they are a summertime fun activity as long as you are not the one holding it!! Can't wait to see all the lights in the gazebo.
ReplyDeleteI would stay all day at Amber's garage sale! Mom is looking good!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda - I've been AWOL for a bit and am just catching up. What a lot you've got done!! I'm going back to look at your old posts.
ReplyDeleteOh boy...I hope I get some of your mojo and do some cleaning around here...soon...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
The gazebo looks great!! CONGRATULATIONS!
ReplyDeleteI think I would scream and run if a gekko appeared! Sounds like Amber is going to be busy with her sale, what a great idea, she must have a LOT of outgrown stuff with four children! A good way to recycle, and raise funds. As always, you and Louis Dean are willing helpers. What a great team. X
ReplyDeleteLinda, I love the picture of LD. He looks so pleased with himself. Kudos on the lightening. I bet the kids were so happy to see you. Your mother does look good. I hope you can get that dang Medicaid working. They can make people crazy. Blessings to all for a good weekend. xoxo, love, Susie
ReplyDeletei don't know how you post and comment and get all this stuff done.. i closed my blog again to complete a to do list that has 6 things on it... if i get online i do nothing else... you are the only one i know with a gazebo chandelier and i love the photo of it... good job helping with the garage sale organizing.
ReplyDeleteThe gazebo is looking WONDERFUL!!
ReplyDeleteMay you have many happy years sipping wine
with LD.
Another exciting piece of news about the gazebo. It sounds like the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine, a good book, or a good conversation with a friend.
ReplyDeleteThere's not a better feeling in the world than getting things DONE...I love that. We are in the middle of putting up a small pergola but high winds and rains have stopped us for a bit...I am going to search your blog for an outside pic of your gazebo....
ReplyDeleteYou've been a busy girl! I love the feeling of cleaning things out. I'm sure Amber will relish having everything gone that she no longer uses. That's so nice that you're helping her and having dinner together afterwards. The chandelier looks so good in your gazebo! I bet it adds a lot of ambiance at night. Your mom's new bedding is pretty. It looks like she has a nice place to lay her head every night. Hopefully, you'll be able to get her medicaid stuff mailed off to the proper address. That must be so frustrating to have it returned!
