Last night I left home about 9:00 to spend the night in Quadville!
As I let myself in I could hear Amber reading to her children upstairs.
I took my iPad out and quietly crept up to the bedroom and slipped in to take this pic.
It was a magical moment - watching MY baby read to HER babies!
I helped her finish the night time routine.....and after they all went potty AND brushed their teeth AND singing their bedtime songs AND saying prayers AND going potty again AND getting sips of water AND on and on and on.......around 11:00 I poured a glass of wine!
At midnight Trystan was up getting a little extra TLC because of her ear hurting.
Let's just say that we gave up on our gift wrapping marathon and simply spent some precious time chatting and being together - then we went to bed!
Best laid plans, Love!!!
What's nice is that we are so flexible it doesn't faze either one of us to go to plan B,C, D or whatever!
When the kids went to bed last night they all said they wanted to wake MeeMaw up this morning!!
They just love it when I spend the night!
I got up before they did and took my shower then jumped back into bed with wet hair and pulled the covers over my head when I heard them coming down the stairs!!!
They WOKE ME UP!!!! Hahahaha!
I left Quadville and headed up to Grapevine, Texas to meet up with my sister, Luann.
While we didn't grow up together, we will always be sisters and it was good to get to spend some time together!!!
My sister lived in Europe for many years and has a love for all things British.
She had been wanting to check out The British Emporium at 140 N. Main St. in Grapevine so that's where we met this morning. We proceeded to spend the next 6 hours together!!!
We loved listening to the shop keepers talk with their British accents and using works like 'trolly' instead of buggy!!! I will be going back!!! I bought two things there but I can't really share about them just yet.....
Luann knows the area better than I do so I followed her in my car. We shopped a World Market and a TJ Max where I crossed a LOT of things off of my shopping list!!!
Lunch was at Pei Wei and it was delicious!
We lingered long over our food and tea catching up with each other and talking - as sisters do.
Our next stop was in South Lake at Trader Joe's! We both LOVE that place!!!
From there we went to Hobby Lobby where I finally found some of the gift items I have been looking for!!! That's where we parted company about 5:00!!!
I could NOT have navigated and found all the items on
my list if it hadn't been for her!!
Thank you, Sister!!!
On my way back to Irving I made two stops - one for a glass of tea and one for a gift card for a special niece!
Once back in Irving I was at Sam's, a wine shop and a Dollar Store before finally returning home 22 hours after I left!
And THIS is how I have been spending the evening!!!
By the time I go to bed tonight - Christmas will be all wrapped up!!!!
Ho Ho HO!!!!
Good job, Mom!
