It was three years ago this week that we pulled our camper down to the Westlake RV Resort and proceeded to live in it for the next seven months.
We were there to help Amber and Mike with their four little preemie quads!
It was a bit of a nightmare getting down there.
The truck had NO A/C and it was AUGUST hot in Texas!
I followed in my car and we got separated on the Interstate.
You can read about it here: Our 'Moving' Story!
It really WAS an adventure and I love remembering it - and equally happy to know we don't have to do THAT again!
What we are loving right now is the way LIFE is for us!
Every morning we sit in the gazebo with our coffee and Bible/devotions/prayer time plus the out loud reading we do. We are still in the 'Sing Your Heart Out Country Boy' and just finished the chapter on Winning Love Songs.
Louis Dean knows so many of these old songs - or at least part of them!
'That's the Way Love Goes'
Lucy sits with us and listens - both to the music and the stories.
After our gazebo time, we go our separate ways and work on our own projects.
Mine is usually housework/laundry/cooking while he does small home repairs or organizes his music or simply LISTENS to his music.
We tend to eat only one good meal each day and snack lightly for the other two.
Today was an easy peasy meal straight from Trader Joe's and really delicious!
Then it's back to our projects for another few hours and then we both take naps.
Today it was two hours of blissful rest!
It was around 7:30 when we went outside to do some work in the flower beds and water.
We only worked for an hour and then it was time to prop our feet up on the stone wall and sip a glass of wine for him and a homemade margarita for me.
He's waiting in the gazebo for me now.
We start and end our days out there.
I do believe these are some of the very best days of our life and I am loving every minute!
These are the treasured moments. I loved hearing LD sing to you. I love those Trader Joe dinners....so easy and taste so good. I've had the orange chicken..but not the other two items. Must try them. Can hardly believe that you lived out of your camper to help with the tiny quads. Hard times but oh the memories, and now look at those darlings.
ReplyDeleteI made an easy Shepherds pie tonight. Later we had decaf coffee and one of my scones. I'm about ready for bed as I type. Hugs and love.
I've always felt that you know how to really live and enjoy life---it shows in the accounts of your days on your blog. And I know in Texas you really have to do your thing in the morning and evenings--that I learned from blogging! I'm not an early riser, that's totally overrated. If I do get up before 7 or 8 I definitely need a nap for a half hour about 4 p.m.
ReplyDeleteI love that you both putter around on your own, my guy and I do that for the most part, too, except he's not so handy. Bless him though..19 years of education and providing for a family of six---all college graduates and successful. Love him!!

Love hearing about your days with Louis Dean Linda. Love to you both x
ReplyDeleteyou are now living the life of Riley in your own paradise and the quads are close and don't require the RV to visit... hugs to sweet beautiful Lucy.
ReplyDeleteWho wouldn't love your routine, a beautiful life. And I think you should make an album of LD songs.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you live life. Since moving I have slowed down a bit and stopped wishing for some ideal life that can not be attained. I am enjoying life. Yesterday as I was driving in the country, I was in awe of all that God had created. I thought to myself how horrible that I have lived so many years in the what ifs, not enjoying where I am. I love our new life and being with my grandchildren only tops it off.

ReplyDeleteEnjoying the moment is the best of life for sure...the trick is learning to do it.
ReplyDeletea fun life and a great routine!!! one day, someone is going to miss those 2 people who use to sit outside, with their feet up, sipping wine!!!!
ReplyDeletehave a wonderful weekend!!!!
HOW can it have been three years? What a journey.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and the quads !
Linda, I started following your blog about the time you went to be with Amber when the babies were due. Wow, three years went fast. I don't think you and LD have slowed down much since that time. LOL. I love when LD sings to you. Blessings, love you guys, Susie
ReplyDeleteI've followed you for so many years and this is the first time I've been able to figure out your daily schedule. Thanks for posting it. I do believe you when you say these are some of the best days of your life.
ReplyDeleteI really love how you end the day. David and I keep trying but we hit and miss. I remember your days here in Houston.
