God is faithful and his mercies are new every morning!
While I didn't get my NICE back all at once, by the end of the day I knew I was back to normal!
Louis Dean woke up after having a terrible dream. He was a school teacher for 25 years and a teacher's worst nightmare is being unprepared for a class. That has been a recurring dream for him in times of stress and trouble. Last night's dream was exceptionally distressing to him so the first thing we did this morning was set him down to watch Texas Rising! He is loving this mini series on the History Channel thanks to my friend Sandra aka MAD SNAPPER!
He has been reading a book on the Comanches and this series follows right along with that!
While HE watched the program, I got busy redeeming the sewing room!
I start at one edge of the room and move across and up and down.
This was one of the flooded rooms so it made me feel so good to get it all cleaned up and pretty again!
I was three quarters done with it before I had to get ready to take Louis Dean to his doctor appointment.
He has THREE meniscus tears in his right knee so surgery will be scheduled - just as soon as he gets the okay from his cardiologist and the pre op from his primary care doctor.
In the mean time - he accepted the prescription for a mild pain medication to help him cope until surgery.
With THAT done, we moved on to the issue with our car!
I decided to step up to the plate and deal with this myself.
Louis Dean is a wonderful man and fully capable of handling whatever he needs to handle. HOWEVER!!! He and I are a team and since he was already stressed - we decided I should be the one to address this situation. After all, it IS my car!
I prayed beforehand and the night before and while we were waiting in the doctor's office and during the time I was at the dealership.
God, indeed, paved the way before me and I got my car back and left a happy customer.
God is GOOD! AMEN!
Louis Dean drove home in the truck and I drove my CAR to the drug store to get his pain meds!
Since they had to have some TIME to fill the prescription.......
and since Goodwill was just down the street......
I took myself there and found a few treasures!!!
The top basket is already holding some craft supplies for the quads to use tomorrow.
I LOVE that big white wooden tray with the denim pieces in it!!
I am going to have a lot of fun with that!
Two tiny Martini glasses - even though I don't drink martini's!
I bought the swirly flirty skirt simply because I know the quads will LOVE seeing me wear it!
The girls are so cute! I have a summer sun dress and keep it hanging on a peg in my bedroom.
Every time they are over here, they say, "Wear THIS, MeeMaw!! It's so PRETTY!!!"
So I wear that as a nightgown whenever they spend the night.
Harrison will enjoy the juggling balls and I could NOT resist the tiny doll carrier!
$0.75 each!
I brought my loot home and gave Louis Dean his medicine and went back to my cleaning!
Maddie has been behaving herself since we've been home from the ranch.
She's used to strolling around outside and she COULDN'T down there.
She didn't understand we were protecting her - she just got upset at us and started peeing on the carpet (NEW carpet!) and on the bottoms of the curtains which drove ME crazy!!!
If she had kept up with that behaviour once we returned home - she would be in BIG trouble - but thankfully, she didn't!
I did not realize until I got in there that when the water came in the sewing room - it got into Lucy's kennel! I had to take the kennel out and clean it up, wash her bedding and put the fans on the still wet carpet to dry it up. This made her a little nervous since I had to put her in her kennel OUTSIDE while we were gone this afternoon and then I left her outside while Louis Dean was cleaning the ceiling fan in the dining room since she barks at him and his nerves were already shot!
I think SHE thought she was going to be an OUTSIDE dog!!
All ended well. She came in and ate her dinner, drank her water and went to bed in her clean kennel - inside the house just like usual!
This is my craft corner that's hid away - more or less.
The carpet was still damp in here so we are keeping a fan on it all night!
It's been a LONG time since Louis Dean and I have spent an evening in our gazebo together!
I still have some cleaning and sprucing up to do out here but I DID make some progress!
I love every single thing about the word 'redemption.'
My sewing room has been REDEEMED!!!
It's like old times - watching the moon come up over the trees and sipping a glass of wine as we end our day.
Thank you ALL for your concerns and prayers for us!!!
We do so appreciate them, every one!!!
Prayer WORKS!!!
Love to read about your good news - make my heart sing!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad y'all have had a better day and I'm glad LD has his knee diagnosed and now hopefully can start feeling better. Just wish he didn't have to go through all that pain and surgery like I did, I know how awful it is. We will all be keeping him off his feet during recovery! See you tomorrow....
ReplyDeleteSo happy things are looking up! You are such a strong lady...will keep LD in my prayers...enjoy those babies...
ReplyDeleteVery pleased you had a better day Linda xx
ReplyDeleteSounds as if chaos is being turned to order one thing at a time. So glad that Louis Dean has some pain meds to help with the knee and that you had so much energy for putting things right. More retail therapy with some cute finds. The girls will love the baby carrier. If you get them all juggling, it will be very entertaining! Have a delightful quad day!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking...."Linda's getting her GROOVE back!!"
ReplyDeleteO, so glad things are getting back to normal. What a hard time that must have been with water every where in your pretty house....
ReplyDeleteWe've had nice weather for several days now..Mr. Sweet and son have been trying to build a storage and shop but have had to wait until the rain stopped so concrete can be poured. I think they are back to GO again now.
the martini glasses look like art to me and would be pretty on my glass shelves. i could not do house work while bob watches Texas Rising. we are loving it and i could not miss and episode.. WAIT.. i don't do house work anyway unless i have to...
ReplyDeleteLinda, That was a wonderful moon to end our day on. So glad things are returning to normal there. LD will do very well with his surgery. My sister Barb had that done last year. Keep those fans running day and night to make sure things dry completely, Please. Today I feel as if I am getting a cold...big bummer. Ted gave it to me. I have not had colds for some time. Sinus pressure, headache, drainage....rats. Hope all of you there are doing well. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeletep.s. I like that white tray also. Trays are wonderful.
Flooding is difficult on the animals too - so much chaos. Peeing on things is often their way of communicating. Just so glad all that is behind you guys now. I hope your hubby is in not too much pain. Hopefully he won't have to wait too long for surgery.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder LD is in so much pain. I hope all goes well with his surgery.
ReplyDeleteI hope the fans work.
I don't know what happened to your car. Was it flooded too.
Nice finds.
Linda, I am really glad to hear that you are having a better day!
ReplyDeleteSorry I've taken so long to get back to visiting you. Our house has had it's own style of busyness with Birthdays, graduations, doctor's appt...etc. I love that you have things back in order...you are so amazing to me. And glad your car is back and running.......Love your new tray. I collect trays and that is a really nice one. Going to take a quick trip up North for a Wedding, so will be out of touch for a few days. Love and Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to those teacher dreams you said LD has sometimes. You are right...a teacher's worst nightmare is not being prepared. That's a dream I have occasionally too and wake up panting with anxiety.
ReplyDeleteMy husband had his meniscus repaired about three months ago. The pain is so much better but he still has a little swelling. However, he goes to Cross Fit everyday so it's his fault. :)
Progress ! Don't you just love it ! I'm happy your home is getting back together. Home is our safe haven, peace at the end of a stressful day. When our home is undone, we kind of "Oh no!" Hope the meds kick in for Louis Dean and you can get started on your den ! (:
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear things are going better for you! AND.....our weather is so nice right now.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for you water problems but glad to hear you're making headway on the clean up. Cats get very testy when they're upset at you I remember my cat doing things like that when he got upset.
ReplyDeleteI feel LD's pain. Hope all goes well. Imagine Goodwill being down the street from the drug store. How convenient... LOL Hug to y'all
Yay about the car and fab that the nice is back! I feel I need to regain some of mine today too! All the best for LD's knee. Cheers from carole's Chatter
