Tuesday Doings and a Quad Wednesday!

This is the third week Ruth Ann and I have walked in addition to our normal Tuesday activities!
I picked her up at 10:00 that morning so we could take in an early movie and then WALK before going on to our other activities! This week's movie was Spare Parts and was the best one we have seen in awhile!!!

We walked the woods again and this time we had our bag of peanuts with us!

We had some takers!!!

I loved the way this little guy stretched out to enjoy his meal!

Our day was packed full!
We Goodwilled here in town and then Goodwilled in Dallas! We shopped Central Market and then stopped by to visit the quads over in Quadville.
It was 6:30 when we got back home!

Here are my Goodwill finds!

A perfect hat for Louis Dean! He's going to wear it Thursday night at the jam session!

I made a decent sized haul!

The hats are for when we garden - which we did today.

Logan wore the flower dress today and Trystan wore the one with the yellow ribbons - OVER the flower dress I bought a few weeks ago.
I KNEW I needed more than ONE 'Flower Dress!'

This is a super comfy top and I hope to wear it Friday.

I wore this one today!

I'm a sucker for a lamp shade!

We were celebrating Ruth Ann's birthday today and that evening at art class!

Gouda flavored crackers - really good! - from Central Market and chips and guacamole for snacks with Turkey Pot Pies as our entree.
A delicious carrot cake was shared by all and Ruth Ann took the rest home!
We had a regular party with Ruth Ann, Sabrina, Louis Dean, Sherry (our daughter in law) and Cindy (Sherry's sister) and me!

The only problem was I had a terrible headache.....the second one this week!!!

I managed to paint at least some on my boots. I worked on the background on the far right and that far right boot.

Sabrina got a lot of details put into hers!

Here's the birthday girl!!!
Ruth Ann says she is enjoying this painting more than any we have done!
She is doing a great job!

Thanks to Sabrina for these photos. I'm afraid I spent much of the art class time having my neck and shoulders massaged and spreading Ben Gay on my neck!
Everyone was so sweet in both setting out the art table and cleaning it up!
But then - they do that every week!

I skipped the journal entry for last night because I felt so bad!
I was in bed by 10:00!

This morning the first thing I did was make an appointment with a chiropractor!
I will see him next Tuesday and I am looking forward to it!!

Louis Dean was still sleeping when I got up this morning.
As I sipped my coffee, I noticed Maddie had gone outside on the side patio.

First she went up to that little girl statue.
It looked just like she was listening to her read!
Then she went over to that chicken and was nose to nose with it!

The quads arrived for their Wednesday with MeeMaw and Granddad!

The weather was beautiful so they played outside just about all day long!

I got out our real stethoscopes and we listened to our heart beats!

The kids LOVE the sand box!!
They ALL played in it at times......

and other times it was two and two!

Granddad fixed lunch - grilled cheese, fried potatoes and applesauce.
He and I have a deal.....he makes one meal and I make the other!

I love naps!!!
We are into the Farmer Boy book by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Louis Dean stays right in there with us to hear the stories.

They sleep about an hour and a half - sometimes two.
I use that time to rest, too!!

Snacks!!! The only sweets of the day!
Sugar wafers!

We did a little gardening!

We planted onions and some seed packets.
I think there were beets, carrots, peas and lettuce.
Who KNOWS where they will spring up???
The only thing I was serious about was the onions!

We have a singer in the group!!

This one is a little loud!
I think she's trying out for The Voice or something!

I found a couple more dolls so all three girls could have one to 'rock!'
This one is Emily and I made her for Amber when she was two years old.

We practiced shapes and our letters.

I like my hat from Goodwill yesterday!

Trystan liked it more!

I cooked Spanish Rice for dinner.
Every week I am using a recipe from the next section in my Better Homes and Garden Cookbook.
However, I added hamburger meat and Rotel tomatoes along with the other ingredients listed.

We were still playing outside while dinner simmered!

Doesn't every little girl want to wear feathers in her hair??

After dinner, I always give them baths.
Tonight I added some magic!
I had used some of Louis Dean's bubble bath and they were loving the bubbles!
Trystan said, "We have bubbles at OUR house!!"
That's when I got the tiny bottle of food coloring out and put a drop or two in front of each child and they swirled it into the water and it was BLUE!!!
Like MAGIC!!

The best part of the day is after baths! The kids are just so HAPPY!!
Logan giggled and laughed for over an HOUR!!!
We decided to hang out in the gazebo until their mama and dada came.
A prefect place to end this wonderful 'Quad Day!'

  1. Wow, two wonderful days! Happy birthday to Ruth Ann! I recognize that ABC book Harrison was looking at. We have it in the library at work. Joe will be right over for those sugar wafers. He loves them. I just bought him a pack a couple of days ago and they are gone! I love the photo of Kailey singing. Such a beautiful picture. And the video at the end is so sweet. They are happy children.

  2. all that giggling and singing and having so much fun has got to be a blessing for you and LD.. makes me smile just watching and listening. about your headache. i have been having them to and i think it is the heavy dose of pollen. mine is in my forehead and that makes me thinking pollen in the sinus.

  3. Linda, I hope you get some relief from the chiropractor visit. Both of your days were busy. I know you ladies have a great time painting. Nice that you and Ruth can get a good walk in. I need to do every day. Yesterday I did about a dozen up/down stair trips. The quads are singing cause Granddad has taught them .:):) What a great family you have. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. Hi Linda, I see you've been very busy. I love hearing about your days with the quads and those videos are just too cute. I'm sorry you haven't been feeling your best. My hubby see's a chiropractor every couple of months now and it does him a world of good. Since the weather is warming up, I'll be back to walking, too and I'm really looking forward to it. Hugs... :)

Those quads (and your daughter!) are soo blessed by you and your Louis Dean. Making memories that will not be forgotten. 7. You turned them all into Smurfs?! LOL! What a great couple of days (except for that headache). I made a beeline for the wolf wiz (that's what I call John's stinky ointment) this morning because I woke with a crick in my neck. No fun!

  11. thanks for the birthday wishes, Linda! My house is full of cardboard boxes at the moment. I expect it'll be another few hours before we get the keys to our new place and then the big shift begins - luckily we don't have to do it all at once. Cheers
