Tuesday Treasures and Traditions!!!

I picked Ruth Ann up shortly before noon today for our first Tuesday together in 2015!
We were MORE than ready to hit up the Goodwill for Treasures!!
Of course we found some!!!

I could NOT pass up this little number!!!
This looks just like Kailey or Logan to me!

A pretty yellow dress that will be perfect for Trystan!

Sweet summer dresses for sweet little girls!

I found this special handmade dress and thought of Rayne!
The bumble bee buttons are adorable touches!
As it turned out - the dress is too SMALL for Rayne and too BIG for the quads!
I'll just have to keep it until someone grows into it!!

This one is PERFECT for Rayne and will fit her perfectly!!!!

I even found ME a little something!

Facebook

I love the recipes and craft ideas I see on Facebook!
Since I bought Root Beer for Roy to drink during our Super Bowl Party - and since I bought SIX and he only drank ONE - and since it is NOT the diet kind so I won't drink it -  I immediately thought of the Root Beer Float Cake that has been 'floating' around Facebook!!!
I already had all the ingredients - including the package of Dream Whip it calls for!

As soon as I got home this afternoon I made it for art class tonight.
It did turn out GOOD!!!

Sabrina, Ruth Ann and I all had a piece and then when Sherry and Cindy came over - I totally forgot to offer them some! SO - I still have a LOT of cake left!!

I didn't frost the entire cake because I didn't want to have to keep it in the fridge. I just put the topping in a bowl so we can take s spoonful out at a time.

Ingredients:
1 package of white cake mix
1 3/4 cup of root beer divided
1/4 cup of canola oil
2 eggs
1 envelope of powdered whipped topping mix
(I used Dream Whip)
Directions:
In a large bowl or mixer combine cake mix, 1 1/4 cups of root beer, oil and eggs. Beat on low speed for 2 minutes or you can mix ingredients by hand for 3 minutes.
Pour into a greased 13x9 baking pan. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before icing.
For your icing combine the remaining 1/2 cups of root beer with the whipped topping mix. Beat on high until soft peaks form. Ice cake and store in fridge.
And yes you can definitely taste the root beer in this-it's so yummy!

Tonight we worked on a project we started last year!!!

The first four boots from left to right are DONE!
I hope to finish the other three next week.

This is Sabrina's painting.
Even though we paint the same thing - they always turn out to be uniquely our own!!
SHE has a lot of cool things she's going to decorate her boots with - charms and such!
It is going to be a wedding gift and will be awesome!

Just look at our cute Ruth Ann!!!
She worked on her Santa.
I still have mine to finish, too!!!

This morning Louis Dean went over to Quadville to help Amber.
All four kids got sick yesterday so she had to take them ALL to the doctor!
They are much better this evening so they will be arriving in the morning to spend 'Wednesday's at MeeMaw's House!!!'

With that in mind - I have already made the bed down and turned the heated blanket up!!

  1. How perfect you got back into your Tuesday Routine, and my what great little dresses you found. Our of 12 grandchildren we only have 3 girls, and they are 19, 21, 26....don't think any of those cute one would work for them. HaHa.

Loving your boot paintings. I painted a pair of boots and a cowboy hat years ago...wonder where I put it?

Went to our Women's Bible Study this morning and really enjoy getting to know these delightful women.

Sorry the quads were sick....being at MeeMaw's will be the cure!!! Hugs.

  5. How lucky are the girls to have a personal shopper. I buy for family too and even sometimes friends, those who appreciate my finds.

  7. Oh those sweet dresses! Great finds all! So sorry that the quads all got sick and happy to know that they are all feeling better. I'm presuming the antibiotics kicked in...ear infections? Now you must be in the thick of things with Wednesday's Play Date in full swing.
