I woke up before anyone else yesterday morning - and that was still after 9:00!!!
I took my time and made a first cup of coffee in the Keurig. I enjoy puttering around as I wake up - unlike Louis Dean who prefers to sit in a stupor state gazing at Fox News!
I let the others all sleep in while I made a good breakfast!
Sausage, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes and toast!
The kids and I tiptoed downstairs to the quad table.
I think I am taking pics of them in this unique table handmade by the Quad Father because I am certain its days are numbered!!!
Kailey is shopping just exactly like her mama does!!
I love it!
Lunch was a tea party affair.
The age of Questions and Repetitions has begun!!!!
Now just how LONG does THIS stage last??
Probably not long enough......
amazing how quickly babies grow up!
These are two of my grand dogs - Jersey and Shiner!
Lucy enjoys visiting and playing with them.
I spent some time organizing my Bible Basket for this new year.
I am so excited to have my Country Diary for 2015!!
I usually spent a few minutes reminiscing over the past year's entries and I always marvel at how many adventures have been packed into a mere twelve months!
Last year we read Psalms every morning.
I heard a preacher say once that Psalms teach us how to get along with God and Proverbs teach us how to get along with each other. This year we will read Proverbs.......it is conveniently 31 chapters long! One for each day!
I am also using a new Prayer Journal this year.
My friend, Candie, gave me this one.
Another thing I am doing this year is praying through the Christmas Cards and notes that people have sent me through 2014. I used to do this back when my kids were home.
I take all the cards and notes and put them in a bag. Each morning I take the one in front and reread it and then pray for that person or family. I then out it in the back and this pray all the way through them - and then start over!
Two other books I will read each day:
Simple Abundance and The Language of Letting Go.
We were in bed before midnight last night!
Mike grilled some delicious steaks and with baked potatoes and steamed broccoli - and coupled with a bottle of Cupcake Angel Food Wine - made a memorable New Year's Eve Dinner!
We ALL slept in this morning!

Mike served up a breakfast deserving of a holiday!
French toast, fruit and bacon!
We all sat at the dining room table!
They have such good manners!!
Everyone was laughing and playing when we got ready to leave this afternoon.
They all stood at the door where I kissed each one goodbye.
We came home and I went right to bed where I stayed for several hours!
Having fun is hard WORK!!!
We have all holed up in the den this evening staying close by the fireplace.
The kids chased and played with Lucy a lot before we left so she was tired and ready for a nap too!
Maddie did well over in Quadville! She stayed under the bed in the guest room mainly!
It's been a good to have a cozy fire burning on this cold rainy first day of 2015. I have been nursing a headache since I woke up this morning and am already looking forward to going to bed! Right AFTER we finish watching Home Alone 2!
It's good to be home.
Happy New Year Linda...looking forward to more adventures in 2015...
ReplyDeleteHAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Happy New Year, Linda!
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be starting the year well with Louis Dea's good report & Tryston on the mend. I've never seen a couple move as fast as the two of you, especially with a dog and cat in tow. Oh, and don't forget the guitars. Mercy! Such fun to read about but not something I could ever do. I hope you have a wonderful 2015.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to be home and cozy in your own bed. Oddest thing with my friends...we're all sleeping in these past few days. I think we all need the rest...I know that you do! A Happy 2015 to you!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos, Linda, very heartwarming and enjoyable. Thanks so much for sharing your life here, I always enjoy your posts. Happy New Year to you and your family. :)
ReplyDeleteThat table for the quads is fabulous. I like the thought that Proverbs shows us how to get along with people and Psalms how to get along with and please God. I am getting ready to start a study of the Minor Prophets.
ReplyDeleteLinda, Happy New Year! It was raining throughout the first day of this year and so it does also today on the second - all snow gone by now. BUT we did have a white Christmas. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh...I love sleeping in...amazing that everyone else at your place did too!
ReplyDeleteI want to ask you where you get your Country Diaries. I think I have a few from years ago and I loved writing in them. Also, the book on Letting Go. I could definitely use that. Please let me know.
Happy New Year, Linda! :)

Happy New Year Linda! Hope 2015 is full of joy and many blessings for you and your amazing family X
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting to see how long it is before the quads out grow that wonderful table, and it looks like the tea party table will not hold them much longer either.. i love Trystan in the crate and the others shopping with their baskets.I hope trystan is doing good. she looks great. love the dogs of course and Lucy on her bed and Maddi on her chair...
ReplyDeleteLinda, I am so glad things are getting back to normal for all of you. I can see why you need rest. Your holidays have had some stress. Take care of yourself. That goes for LD too. I am also ready for a quiet stretch. I enjoyed my kids, grandkids and the holidays. But it is time for some rest and quiet. Blessings to all, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeletethat table is so neat that Mike made for the quads. Yes, they will soon be outgrowing it, I'm afraid. I know that's nice to have since it keeps them in their seat during meal time. Kids often want to get up and down because they can't sit still too long. Glad that you had a good New Years Day.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I am The Prayer Lady at church, and I have never had a prayer journal!! In fact, I must confess that I have never heard of them! Can you buy them, and how do they work? I will be so sad to see the big table go, and I know you will, too! IN the dog cage, that is so funny! Maddie is so pretty in this picture! She seems so sweet and shy. I love your idea of praying through the Christmas cards!! I have never heard of that either, so I will give you all the credit for inventing such a cool thing!
ReplyDeleteLove the quad table! Sounds like you had a lot of fun and some good food too! This is only the 2nd time I have heard of people praying through their cards....what a great idea.Have a wonderful new year.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Linda. The quads are growing so quickly and I can imagine that there is never a dull moment! Love the table! Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteFun times with those precious little ones! I love their little prayer and yes, they are so well mannered. You know, many parents don't take the time and having 4 the same age and doing so well says a LOT about Amber & Mike. I know you and LD help too.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of praying through your cards & notes. I've never done that but it's a wonderful way of lifting people up. Did you find my name in there? :) I'm reading Simple Abundance again ~ love it! I have a new Gratitude Journal and include prayers. The "Letting Go" book by Melodie Beattie is another favorite! I've had both of these for eons it seems.
I so hope that you will take some down time and rest! I really think both of you need it. Sleep until you can't and then sleep some more. :)
xo

Poor Lucy looks pooped. LOL I'm guessing so were you and LD.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
