The Quads First Christmas Program and a Mini Concert of Louis Dean and His Friends!

We were all ready and waiting to see the quads perform at their very first Christmas program!
Wild horses couldn't keep me away!

Amber brought Starbucks!

There they ARE!!!!

The Quads FIRST Christmas Program!!!

They stayed on stage - even though the girls cried!

Trying to get a good picture is NOT easy!!!

After the program and photo shoot we went on over to Quadville for lunch before we came home to get ready for the NEXT party!!!

I did NOT sleep well last night - as in I only got about 3 hours!
I came right in and took a nap while Louis Dean manned the kitchen.
I woke up with just enough time to vacuum the house, clean the bathrooms and put together the cheese tray, dessert platter and finish the mashed potatoes.
The party started at 6:00 and at 5:22 I was getting dressed!

The bedroom served as the coat room - and several brought their guitar cases in here to keep from crowding the other rooms.

Louis Dean brought out the big gun for tonight!

Candles were lit.

Table made ready.
We served buffet style so no place settings required.

Appetizers.

Nearly Party Time!

Louis Dean's bathroom is the main bathroom and the one guests most often use.
I didn't junk it up too badly.

The musicians all arrived at just about the same time.
They are accustomed to playing together every Thursday.
Normally they play from 6:00- 7:00. take a 30 minute break for snacks and then play til 8:30.
Tonight the party lasted from 6:00 - 10:30!!

The harp......

Lots of instruments were played here tonight!

Guitars, fiddle, harp, and mandolin - made for some good old fashioned music!!

This lady in gold holds the group together!
Her name is Ecky and she IS golden!!!
She is also an excellent Prayer Warrior!

I missed several of Louis Dean's songs but everyone played and sang and had fun!

A few latecomers - being late around here is totally acceptable!

The fiddle player was amazing!

I loved hearing Benny say, "Okay, Folks!!! I'm leaving after this one!!!"
He didn't.

We ended the evening with Silent Night.

What a wonderful party - even if I say so myself!!!
I think the fact that the hostess has as good a time as the guests is what makes it a winner!!

I call this a successful evening!
Time to get some sleep!

  1. Linda this party looks like SO much fun. When we have a party with guests contributing music etc in Scotland, we call it a 'ceilidh', pronounced 'Kay-li' Hope you got a bit more sleep last night and are ready for the next party now! X

  4. What a fun evening! It's like having your own private concert. I think it's nice that they make that a weekly thing. I guess they made up for not coming next week (because of Christmas) by playing so late.

  5. Linda, This post is wonderful. Your lives are surround with music . I love that. The children did well to sit on the stage, bless their hearts. Next one will be a bit easier for them. What do you mean LD got the big gun out...he is the big gun !! Love his music. My real father had a beautiful mandolin, he had some friend who would come over , drink dang moonshine and play music. Not a good atmosphere with the drinking....but we kids love the music. Then one night in a drunken rage, my father broke that mandolin and it just broke my heart. I had to stop just now and cry about that. That is when my parents started having fights and arguing. I try never to go there in my memory. Many things are better left in the past. LOL Linda if I ever get to Texas, I want to hear LD's music. You are the most gracious hostess ever. I see why you and LD are happy...you make others happy. I like when that guy said he was leaving and didn't ...too much fun. Blessings to all of you. xoxo,Susie

  6. Oh my GOODNESS! Even a harp player! She plays beautifully! The party was a huge success! I now am of the opinion that no one gives better parties than YOU! OH, their first program!!! YES! Linda, from now on you will live from one program to the next! My most favorite thing is going to the school programs! And then recitals when they are older! It is adorable and I love the picture turning into a video! Here, on the evenings of school programs, the police have to control the traffic at times and the cars are lined up for a block. One time we had to turn around and go home because there was no place to park! When the door is unlocked, the grammies RUN in to get good seats! YES, even pushing and shoving! There is NO fooling around!! We have discovered in order to get there and park and get the front seat, we get there almost an hour early. Glad all went well!! I remember the first one we went to, little Anne was in the front row and misbehaved badly, she kept sticking her tongue out!! But the audience had a big laugh. I think I will re post that soon so you can see it, it is hilarious.

  8. Cool to see a harp-- I play one too. Lots of celidhs here (Nova Scotia) at this time of year. That looked like a lot of fun. You must have made everyone feel very comfortable!

  9. What fun! Obviously, everyone was enjoying themselves since they stayed later than normal. :) I'd say that's a great reflection of the host and hostess.

The quads are brave little soldiers even though the girls cried. I'll bet by next year you couldn't keep them off the stage! I think it's wonderful that they did so well since this was their first performance. :)

    xo

  11. LOL trying hard to get that good picture. Trying to get all those babies facing in one direction is a real job I'm sure. Your evening of singing sounded great and fun. You are the hostess with the mostess
