Celebrating October!!

September just FLEW by!!!
Enya and Andrew Lloyd Weber have replaced the Neil Diamond CD's.

This is one of my favorite trees! It is a perpetual tree - changing with the seasons.

My 'new' pumpkins from Goodwill!

I slept late this morning and it was delicious!!!
After coffee and reading, my urologists nurse called to tell me I have a NEW medicine waiting for me at the pharmacy. She said, "Mrs. Chapman. We know why you are still sick."

I celebrated October with a fresh batch of fruitcake cookies!
I added my SPECIAL ingredient!
I was out of rum on the last baking! It just takes a splash!
The second cookie sheet had just gone into the oven when an October storm arrived in FURY!!!

Lights OUT and candles and oil lamps LIT!!!

We went out to sit in the gazebo after the storm passed and entered into Plan B for this Thursday night! Louis Dean has a jam session and we were all ready to go! The good thing is - there will be a Thursday Jam Session NEXT week! And we will BE there!

In the mean time - we enjoyed watching the birds at the feeder. IN the rain!

There is ALWAYS something to be grateful for!

Power came on about 3 hours later. Thank goodness.
Louis Dean took a nap in the guest room while I went out to pull weeds and clean up after the storm.

Yesterday was spent in Quadville as is our custom!

Kailey took my NEW camera and snapped a few pics plus CHANGED some of my settings on Monday! I decided to put a fresh battery in my OLD camera and let her play with it!

I think she is better with the cameras she is NOT supposed to have!

Tea Time is a weekly ritual!

I try to bring special Tea Cakes or Cookies each week!

LOVE Harrison's lifted pinkie!

My sweet Amber and her sweet Trystan!!

I usually bring and prepare Wednesday night dinner.....and frequently use a recipe I find on Facebook. Cheeseburger Pie!!

Cheeseburger in Paradise by Jimmy Buffett
Ingredients:

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 large onion (chopped)
1/2 teaspoon of seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
a dash or worcester sauce
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (I used 3/4 cheddar and 1/4 mozzarella)
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of Original Bisquick mix
2 eggs
Directions:

Heat oven to 400°F.
Spray a 9 inch pie plate with non-stick cooking spray
Cook beef and chopped onion in a skillet over medium about 10 minutes or until beef is brown. Drain excess fat.
Stir in salt, garlic powder and worcester sauce and then spread in pie plate
Next, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the beef
In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs and Bisquick. Make sure you try to get as many lumps out as you can. Pour over meat mixture.
Bake in oven for 25 minutes or until a knife comes out clean
Bake in oven for 25 minutes
cheeseburger pie Serves 4-5 people
Of course, I doubled it!

We took Maggie home with us last night.
I think the quads will really miss her!

I can't tell you how much I LOVE this picture!!!!!

It doesn't get any better than this!!

Do you think Maggie was ready to come home???

Well, the power is on. So is Thursday night football.
I am about to call this a day.

  4. I am so glad the power came back on and you did not lose any food. The quads are sure growing! The casserole looks so good. Great news from the doctor! Did they grow a culture and find out the exact strain?
