NOT my Normal Tuesday!

I knew Louis Dean didn't feel well yesterday but I didn't quite realize he was really SICK!
This morning he got up to have coffee and reading with me - AFTER he had checked Fox Business News!
He was pretty devastated to hear of Robin Williams death. It stunned all of us.

After our morning routine Louis Dean went back to bed - in the guest room. That's the room we use when one of us is ill. He has been in bed all.day.long. He says he feels like he has the flu. I still think it is allergies but I am keeping a close eye on him. If he's not better in the morning I am taking him to the doctor!
I can tell he is SERIOUSLY sick because he has already said he can't go to Quadville tomorrow.

While he was tucked into bed I spent the day cleaning!

It took all day but I got it DONE!!!
Floors are mopped. everything is CLEAN!!

The only thing I did NOT get to was the fridge! I will do that in the morning - hopefully!!
Perhaps before I go to Quadville. I will be going alone and can already hear the grands asking where Granddad is!!!

It's nice to be able to use the table once again!

Brace yourself!!!! THIS is the den......

and I did NOT get to that today!!! Perhaps Thursday. I can't put off today's work on tomorrow because tomorrow is already scheduled! Generally speaking I have Monday and Thursdays to 'keep house.'

I called Ruth Ann this morning and told her I didn't want to leave Louis Dean. She understood completely!
While we didn't do lunch OR a movie OR a thrift store - we DID paint!!!!

This evening I worked on my grandson's painting. One more session will finish it up!

I also based in the entire canvas of this Santa painting which will be for my sister, Nita's, birthday!
Sometimes when I base one in - it looks more like a clown than a Santa Claus.
I'm grateful this one looks similar to what it's supposed to be!

Sherry finished her Texas painting right down to signing her name!!!
Have I mentioned how much we love Sherry? She asked to see Louis Dean - who was still in bed in the guest room. He was thrilled to have visitors and I think Sherry and Ruth Ann's visit did him good like a medicine!

I love Ruth Ann, too!!! She is doing a fine job on her painting!
Only another session or two and she will be DONE!!!
Louis Dean has known Ruth Ann since she was 15 years old.
Her sister, Ellen, was LD's beloved first wife.

That's it for this Tuesday! It's rather quiet around here with Louis Dean not in the middle of things!
I have David Lanz piano CD's playing in the living room. Lucy is already in her kennel snoring.
All that's left in this day is for me to do is water some of the flowers in the back yard and then take my book (just starting a new one ) and go to bed.
I'm enjoying the solitude but am ready for Louis Dean to GET WELL!!!

  1. Oh Linda, I am so sorry to learn that LD is not well. But I bet that heat must have something to do with it. Hoping he will get better soon.
Your kitchen looks so much different now! With all the many decorations and stuff it is so much more work consuming job to clean than mine!
I love your art! This winter birch painting is so similar looking than our view over here during the Winter - cold and quiet.
    Happy Quadsday tomorrow, Linda!

  6. Linda, you all better get LD to the doctor today just to make sure. :)

Looks like y'all are having so much fun painting. I'm in awe of people who can do things like that.

Your house looks great. It always feels good to get a little cleaning done, doesn't it?

  7. Saying a prayer for Louis Dean. The news of the day is always enough to send one into a tailspin, but God knows us and He knows that we are but dust. I don't know how people without a faith make it in this world.

Your house looks so pretty! Love the cheery lights and the beautiful things.

  8. So sad that LD is feeling so poorly. It's never fun when our sweeties are sick. I know you take good care of him. You home always looks so inviting and cozy. I had a good Tuesday...today, I need to vacuum, mop and dust. Even this little apartment needs a good cleaning.
The paintings are great. What a good job they did. And your haunting trees are just exciting to watch and you finish up. A real conversation piece when framed. Have a good day, and tell LD we all love him and want him to get well quick!

  9. As I read this it is Wednesday, and I am hoping that your LD is feeling much better and that a trip to the doctor isn't necessary. Sending LD very best wishes!
