I arrived in Quadville late last night after art class.
Amber and I had just settled down to watch a little TV when Logan woke up!
Amber rushed upstairs to find her flailing around in her crib having a bad dream.
She picked her up only to discover she was burning up!!
As in a fever of 103.7!
A call to the doctor and a cool bath plus some meds helped to bring her fever down and we all three were in bed by 3 am! Needless to say - we went to bed tired and woke up even more so!
To be so sick all the babies were in a good mood.
Amber and I spent all morning in the trenches wiping noses and serving up cool drinks of water and iced herbal teas. ALL my children and ALL my grandchildren LOVE tea!! They got that from me!!!
Reinforcements came in the form of GRANDDAD!!!!
He was a lifesaver! Of course, wild horses could not have kept him away!
The babies went down for a late nap after a late lunch which followed a late breakfast -
we are in SURVIVAL MODE here, folks!!! Granddad took a nap while Amber and I settled ourselves in front of the TV for a little James Bond!
Skyfall is our very FAVORITE Bond movie!!
Now Harrison MAY have crashed our party!! Okay, he DID!!!
During the course of this day we have devoured 3/4 of a watermelon!
It was a great way to keep everyone hydrated!
I try to bring dinner on Wednesday and in keeping with my trend to use old recipes we had 'Gone to Church Casserole.' This recipe is from my dear friend, Cathy, and it was as good as it always is!
I must admit the babies had little to no appetite today.....
but I fed the 'scraps' to Lucy and she devoured them!
Granddad holding a couple of babies after dinner while they watched 'The Ants Go Marching One By One' on my laptop!
Logan has been the sickest and run the highest fever so far.
Harrison has had THE most nose wipes of all!
He says, "Nose!!! Nose!!!" meaning he needs someone to wipe it!!
Sorry to say it is NOT the clear kind of runny nose!!
Snippets of our day .....

Poor babies. I hope they feel better soon. I'm sure Amber was thankful to have you and LD there to help out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a crazy day! What was Logan's diagnosis and how is she now?
ReplyDeleteOh no, I am so sorry the babies are sick. Poor little ones. Amber is so fortunate to have you and LD around. You two both have a heart made of gold.

ReplyDeleteNot fun...sick kiddos! But they are so cute.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so sorry to hear that the quads have been sick! Having a high fever like that is so scary! I used to worry when mine were little with high fevers too. Hope that everyone is starting to get better now. Hope you and Amber don't catch it next. Sounds like a virus.
ReplyDeletePoor darlings, all of you. I always hated it when Pamela got a fever so I can't imagine all 4 of them at once
ReplyDeleteThat Gone to Church recipe sounds tasty. May have to try it out soon
