Home on the RANCH!!!

We got out of town this morning!! It was an effort! Louis Dean had a pretty good night and at 4:30 this morning he and I crossed paths in the hall and he was BACK!!! He felt GOOD! We should have started packing and loading then.....instead Louis Dean tried to go back to sleep - to no avail. We started loading up as soon as I woke up and by that time Louis Dean was starting to suffer again. He would go out and load some and then come in and rest. FINALLY we were ready to leave! But I could not find my phone!!!!
Louis Dean couldn't call me on HIS phone because his was washed in the laundry yesterday! I went across the street and asked my neighbor to call - and my phone was in my purse! It had slipped down a tear in the lining and I never would have found it!! At last we pulled out of the driveway! Louis Dean wanted us to eat at Joe's Coffee Shop before we got on the road and I am so glad we did!!! I ran into a dear friend I have not seen in years!! It is a small world!
Poor Louis Dean! He was so woozy I had to drive the truck down to the ranch!
I promised to drive like an 'old lady' and so I did!
It was hard but I did it!!

Our first stop was Collin Street Bakery in Waco.
I cleaned them out of everything 'Apricot!'
Sam's and HEB were the next two stops and then we were on the home stretch!

MART!!!
We stopped at the grocery store there since I forgot the milk and potatoes at HEB!

I LOVE their mail box!!!

It's so good to be BACK in the country!!!

The wildflowers are growing abundantly around our camper!

The gate was locked and I called my step son who would come up and let us in.....except I couldn't wait!
I climbed the fence and walked down to the camper!
I arrived at the same time as Louis Dean in the truck!

This is the cheese haul from Sam's!
Sherry is going to smoke all this cheese for us this weekend!!
It will be AWESOME!!!

We got down to the ranch and unloaded what we needed and Louis Dean and I were chilling within the hour! We turned the A/C on HIGH since it was so hot!!

After it cooled off we ventured outside.......
so far so good!

We enjoyed the flowers and the birds!

This was our view......

Ah....this is the life!!

Love hearing the birds and sounds of nature......

A campfire is a MUST!!!

We love it down here......

We came in for a simple supper of sandwiches, chips and wine!

I have enjoyed listening to Louis Dean and his son talking and laughing!
That's Rufus at Dean's feet. We have introduced both Rufus and Little Girl (both Dean's dogs) to Maggie.
We do not want them to eat that little white kitty!!

Talking and laughing. Two very important ingredients in life.
I am so thankful these are prominent in ours!!

Deanie, the A/C is ON and we will be sleeping in conditioned air tonight!
Making an appointment with an allergist is on my list of things to do as soon as we go back home!

  1. Yes, an allergist is a good idea. They can discover exactly hat he is allergic to, and there are many different drugs that act different ways. I take three, and one of them is a nose spray. Your first photo of the little pink flowers...I am fairly certain they are primroses. But I don't know the others. The last photo with the sky behind is beautiful.

  3. Have a wonderful time! Does anyone stay in the Airstream RV? I hope you and Louis Dean are clear of allergies on the farm and once home an allergiest can help both of you!

  5. I have suffered from allergies all my life, had tests as a teen and was better. A few years ago they seemed to get worse again, doctor put me on rx allegra, now it ia over the counter. I have high blood pressure and take the plain allegra and feel so much better. sometimes use saline nasal spray with the allegra and that helps

  6. It's beautiful. Did you take the gravity chair? Maybe that's it, LD is sitting in. I'm going to get one to keep up with LD.

  10. Linda, It almost sounds as if you and LD need to see the allergist. I know when your head is stuffed, it can be miserable. I hope you get some relief in the AC...so you can have fun with your family. Blessings to all, xoxo,Susie
