I am ME again!!!

This morning I woke up feeling like ME instead of my MOTHER!
For days I have been under a shroud of darkness and it was such a relief to be myself again.

Louis Dean has been the best caregiver EVER! I know I have been snappy and grumpy over the last week but he NEVER complains. He NEVER argues. I have NEVER known HIM to be hateful or unkind!
This morning he made eggs and toasted biscuits, bacon and gravy.

I think he is actually enjoying being in charge of the kitchen!
Cooking runs in the men of his family. His son is a great cook and so is Louis Dean.
When I get well we will have to start eating a bit healthier, though!

Lucy barking at him has been such an ordeal while I have been ill. I can't jump up and kennel her and when she barks it startles me and upsets Louis Dean terribly. While he was waiting for me at the doctor's office yesterday he was watching those educational programs they show. One was about dogs and he paid close attention and started practicing what they said as soon as we got home.
Apparently dogs do not feel threatened when you extend a closed fist toward them. An open hand signals aggression. When Lucy barks now he extends his fist and .....

then he rubs under her neck or at the top of her head.
It seems to be working!
Louis Dean has GOT to be THE most patient man in the world!
Not only does he live in what he calls a 'Barbie House' - he also puts up with a crazy dog.
Of course, he is the one who chose Lucy and the truth is he loves her dearly!!

Of all the rooms in our house my favorite is our bedroom.
I am still in 'patient' mode and have taken my meds and rested either in bed or the den.
I must have had a pretty bad infection because it is still taking some time to get well.
I'm spending that time counting my blessings and looking at all my pretty things from the comfort of my bed!

  4. Bless your heart! You've really been sick. Thank goodness Louis Dean is there to cook and take care of things. It's so cold outside that if you have to be sick, this is a good time to do it. Rest and get well.

  5. It sounds like the Rocephin did the trick! Thank you, Lord and Baylor Angels!
You have been very sick, my friend. You didn't have the energy to read because your "whole being" was fighting that infection. WOW! I am so glad that you are you again, but please remember not to over do!

  8. I am so glad to read that you are getting better little by little. Don't rush it! Lous Dean is one in a million and I know you'll be spoiling that man when you are back to 100% normal. Thank you for telling me about bacon gravy - I think it's something I'd have to have because someone else has made it - don't know if I'd try to do it myself!

  9. So good to know that you are feeling better. Normal sounds good to me. With all this quality care I'm not sure that you want to get back to normal too fast. Keep getting plenty of rest. John loved seeing what LD is up against in "the Barbie House." Not too tough, I'd say.

  10. So very glad you are on the mend. Just love that man of yours. I think he will become the "Dog Whisperer". His breakfast looks so good. I have been good, so when we went out for breakfast this morning after running some errands....we halved an omelet. I'm trying hard.
I think your "Barbie House" is truly a doll house I would enjoy living in...Think I going to use some of your ideas in the bedroom, since I have SO MUCH tea stuff....Love you, sending hugs and prayers.

Your Louis Dean is a gem of a guy and he cooks too, in the Barby house with all the pretty things and that stove looks yummy! The best for you sweet friend, I'll send some prayers your way. Happy Valentine's too!
