Afternoon Tea and Downton Abbey!

Since football was on yesterday I recorded Downton Abbey for my viewing pleasure this afternoon!

I absolutely LOVE the theme music!
'Did I Make the Most of Loving You?'
I may try to figure out how to make that my ring tone!

Louis Dean and I spent the morning in the den with our coffee and books and blankets!
It was 15 degrees when we woke up! I am thinking we are just about over being ill! It's about TIME!
More Christmas came down today - this time from the dining room and Louis Dean's bathroom.
He was not sad to see it leave the latter.

For lunch we had a healthy garden salad and Asiago bread - thanks to the groceries Stephanie left for us yesterday. We had wine with it just because we CAN!
Of course this was followed by a nice long afternoon nap!

Finally!!
This evening Louis Dean relinquished control of the TV and I prepared the tea tray and lit a fresh fire!!

Then we settled back to enjoy the 2 hour Season 4 Premier!
I thoroughly enjoyed it and Louis Dean was bored out of his mind!
That's okay! I watch all sorts of boring things with HIM!!
He and Fox News!! And that Opening Bell and SQUAWK on the Street!!
He was a good sport and hung in there with me.

It's been a good day. Still rested and took naps but less medicine and the cough is just about gone.
In the morning Louis Dean and I are declaring ourselves WELL!
We will keep a low profile since it will still be crazy cold but it still feels GOOD to FEEL good!

  2. Your teapot is pretty, and that sounds like a good way to spend time as you get well. Downton Abbey is one of our favorite tv shows too.

  4. Watched Downton Abbey last night with my husband. Unlike yours, he is a big fan of the show and reminds me to watch it. So glad you are feeling better. Your lunch looks yummy,

  5. love the tea tray. there is nothing in this world that would make me watch the things my hubby watches... and he refuses to watch what i watch. but every evening from 5:30 to 7:30 we watch a recorded movie or series but always one we both really like. if i record a movie and 10 minutes into it say I can't watch this, i say do i save it for you or not. he says save or not, and we watch one together. i rather read than watch TV so that is what i do while he has the remote....

  6. My parents said it was pretty chilly for them as well in Crystal Beach, TX. I low of 30, I tell them their blood is way to thin down there since they moved there. I let them know that our high for the day yesterday was -15 with a wind chill of -45. Let me tell you that is really freaking cold. The hounds all learned to hold it a little longer and when they did go out to make sure the peed a little faster. Had to rescue a few of them on their first trip out but after that they didn't dilly dally to much out there. We have another cold spell today and then hopefully we will have a heat wave by the weekend with a high of 38. Stay warm. Sherri

  7. So glad that you have turned the corner. Gracious, it's time! John does not watch Downton Abbey with me. He does, however,,think that he can talk to me while it's on. I have to give him "the look." I'd prefer to watch it all at once. I don't like waiting!

  8. So glad to hear that you're starting to fee better! There's nothing worse than being sick for a long time. I watched Downton Abbey too, but am a new follower of it. I am still trying to catch on to what's going on. I could relate to watching "boring stuff" that my husband likes to watch. Last night, it was wrestling. Yuck! Then football (which isn't that bad). The good thing is that he often goes to bed early, so I get the TV to myself after that.
