The leaves have suddenly decided to FALL in the metroplex!! I think it happened this morning!
I was on my way to the car to go pick Ruth Ann up for our regular Tuesday Adventure when I noticed the leaves! Flowers are blooming and leaves are falling!
That's the way it happens here!
Fall decorations are coming down this week.
I have already started! It will take a few days but room by room they are coming down!
Ruth Ann and I made a Goodwill run before the movie......
I picked up this rug for Harrison to use with his little cars.
It was brand new!
Our movie today was Elysium. Not our very FAVORITE but we have seen worse.
AND it was fifty cents!
This afternoon I sewed all my strips of denim squares together for the crib quilt I need to have made SOON!
Every day I have a list of things I want to accomplish. I went through it 1,2,3! If it's written on my planner I nearly always get it done. If I don't get to it - I circle it and then it's moved to the top of the list for the next day. SO.........the next thing on my list was to do the final step on at least ONE thing in Louis Dean's bathroom.
So in I went! Stain it and wipe it off - buff with a turpentine rag. DONE!
The funny part of this was Louis Dean was taking a hot bath! I told him, "Don't mind me!"
I was in and out before he ever got out of the tub!
I have to say he DID offer some good critiques on where I had too much stain.
I like this so much better!!
Soon I'll have all the cupboards done and it will look so good!
Next up?
Art class! Painting Santas!
This is ONE! Finished!! I will just need to glaze it next week.
Santa #2! DONE!!! Perhaps a little more work on his nose....
Basically DONE!
Ruth Ann and I missed Sabrina tonight. Summer was ill so she couldn't make it.
She'll have to paint EXTRA fast next week!!
I have two other Santas yet to finish. Again - I'm painting two of the same. One to give and one to keep.
This one is of a little girl whispering in Santa's ear. I don't think it will be as hard as these!
After class was over I brought out the bottle of homemade wine Dean had given us.
Sherry was over visiting with us so all three of us ladies sampled a little bit.
Sherry took the rest of the bottle home. She'll take it back to the ranch where Dean can enjoy it or at least use it in Beef Burgundy.
It's been a good day around here. It is COLD! 43 degrees as I write.
The forecast calls for 28 degrees tonight!
We may need to plug in our electric blanket!
Our fireplace is burning and Louis Dean is listening to Fox News.
Perhaps it's time to watch a program or just shut off the TV and watch the fireplace.
28 degrees in Texas? And we just arrived home today...where it was close to 60 degrees (breaking a weather record for warmest Nov 12th ever)...with a low of about 44. But we have our fireplace going!
ReplyDeleteYou seem to whip through your projects! I somehow never get nearly as much done as I hoped too.
I love your Santa Claus painting, Linda! I agree with Judy, you always seems to get so much done in a day -- you are a marvel!
ReplyDeleteIt has been unseasonably warm here, but I'm sure the snow is not far away!
A wonderful Tuesday. I love your Santa and can't wait to see the next one. We went down to 28 degrees tonight too. I guess winter is coming quickly. I was waiting for a red light the other day. A wind blew and one of the trees lost almost all it's leaves! I guess that's why they call it FALL!
ReplyDeleteLittle chilly down South this morning. I am sure my parents are huddled under their electric blanket. It is a warm 18 degrees in Illinois this morning. But then 50 by the weekend. I just want to tell you how much I LOVE them Santa paintings. You are such a talented lady. Santa and Snowmen seem to be my favorite at Christmas time. Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteLinda do you have more than 24 hours in your days in Texas by chance? You do so much in a day that it seems like you do! :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your Santa photo, you do amazing work! Everything you do I can see the love you put into it!
Have wonderful day!
I love those rugs with highways and roads on them. I wish they's had those when I was little. I played with my cars and tractors in the dirt and made tracks. LOL
ReplyDeleteI've got to get busy and take down my Fall things too. I want to have Christmas in place when I bring Mom home right after Thanksgiving, so will be rushing it a bit this year.
ReplyDeleteLinda, you are a very talented and amazing lady! Love the Santa painting! In response to your question on my recent blog post: I take the bus to some of the places that I do my walks, other times I walk. Since I prefer to walk for pleasure, many of my walks are in nature parks and places where I feel happy and relaxed. I have never had a car and don't drive, even in my childhood, so I am accustomed to taking the bus. Thank you so much for your kind comments on my blog posts. :)
ReplyDeleteLinda, You are one busy girl. I like the santas and the cabinet. Great find on the little rug.Blessings, xoxo,Susie
