Friday Fun! The Chocolate Fountain!

Louis Dean intended to stay 'Home Alone' while I went to Fort Worth this morning.
After I surveyed the kitchen in the cold light of day - I decided it would be best to take him WITH me and we could tackle the 'Damage Control' later and TOGETHER! Besides, he stayed up late last night painting that 'good piece of plywood' and deserved a break!

I wanted both Mother AND Louis Dean to enjoy lunch out. I remembered how much Mother loved Golden Corral when Deanie took her last month. She discovered their CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!

So that's where we went today!

Louis Dean had fun! He dunked something he didn't even recognize in the chocolate.....

and discovered what it was only after he bit into it!

Then he would hand it over to Mother who LOVED it!!!
(It was a coconut macaroon!)

It was a good day at the Corral! GOLDEN Corral!!

Mother got her own plate of food and even served herself at the ice cream bar!

Louis Dean's favorite dessert - and he had more than ONE!!! - was the ice cream and hot caramel sauce!

What fun they had at the chocolate fountain!

THIS is the ONE thing I had!!! It WAS good!!

You can tell they enjoyed themselves!

We pretty much took the day off! Made a Sam's run on our way home.
But FIRST I have to tell you I now can send pics from my phone to my email!!!!
No, I didn't figure it out for myself! I went to the AT&T store where I bought the phone and waited patiently for the representative who helped me THEN to help me NOW! And he DID!!!
He was the nicest guy and I told him I would HUG him if we weren't in public!
I am certain he is some one's FAVORITE grandson!!
I promised him a batch of chocolate chip cookies!
Do you think that may be why he gave me his personal # to text him if I have any more questions about my phone? I love having a smart young person to trouble shoot for me! I am baking cookies Monday!

This is the way our kitchen looks tonight!
I gathered all LD's tools and STUFF up and he put the stove in place.

We'll have to move it tomorrow so we can hang the microwave above it.

Still, it's encouraging to see a glimpse of order again!

We retired for the night to the den to watch TV in front of our fireplace.

Maggie likes for us to relax on the couch with her!
That's exactly what we are doing! RELAXING!
It's Friday night! The fire is peaceful! Blue Bloods is about to come on!
I say it's time to pour the wine and push that magic button that reclines our seats and enjoy the show!

  3. Glad your kitchen is getting some semblance of order back. You both deserved a day off, though. And I know your mom was glad to have LD along. They seem like kindred souls.

  5. The end of a lovely day sounds perfect at your house...I'd be asleep in two seconds flat to have all that warmth and coziness around me. The stove is looking good. Hope that the microwave is installed smoothly and easily. LD sure deserves all the chocolate he can have!

  7. Gosh, all of that chocolate looks good. I love chocolate fountains. I didn't know they have one at the Golden Corral. Glad that you were able to get your new stove/oven too. I'm sure there will be some good meals coming out of it soon!

  8. What a fun trip. I love the pictures of you and your mom. It brings back wonderful memories and a tear or two. She's been gone over 20 years. We did so much together. I miss her every day. How wonderful you can still do things with this special lady in your life. Your LD is sure a cutie.
