'Mini' MiMi Camp for Levi: Day 1

This morning my son, Jesse, dropped Levi off on his way to work. We are having a mini MiMi Camp - just for Levi! I wasn't sure Levi was going to come! Last Friday he and Faith had spent the day with me. On their way home Jesse asked Levi why he didn't want to come stay with me a couple of days this week while their mom was out of town and the two older kids were in camp.
He announced from the back seat, "Y'all just haven't  figured it out yet, have you?"
His dad asked, "Figured WHAT out?"
"I'm just a HOME boy!!! I like staying HOME!"
I'm much the same way myself!

The very first thing he did was play in the sand - and mud - while I sat outside with my morning coffee and watched him.

What is it about little boys and mud?
It's a love affair!

Granddad uses this area where we USED to have a big hot tub for his sand pit.

Levi could not resist filling it with water and then getting IN!!

A good bath and shampoo was next! He had to stay in the tub while I rinsed out his swim suit and put it in the dryer for a few minutes.

All that playing made him hungry - for peach cobbler!!

At MiMi's we play the old fashioned way!

Lunch was at McDonald's - always a hit with kids!!

Triple digits made it TOO hot for anything OUTSIDE so it was Lego's for his afternoon entertainment.

Then he wrote a book with the first page saying,
'Written and Illustrated by Levi '

We closed out the time together with a robust game of WAR!

I think it was a GOOD day!
Tomorrow is arts and crafts day and I have lots of projects planned.

  12. My Axle is a Home Boy too! He rarely stays with my Mommy.
Boys and Mud go together like Peanut Butter & Jelly! I love his Hot Tub area. Axle would have been in pure bliss!
