I spent every minute of this Wednesday having FUN!
My sister, Deanie, came over! We headed to Dallas to have lunch with Summer.
I can NOT believe I left my phone - and more importantly - my CAMERA at home!!
Thanks to Deanie and Summer for their cell phone pics!
Our lunch choice was Panera Bakery.
The salad was HUGE! Chicken, strawberry, roasted pecans, mandarin oranges and a poppy seed dressing!
ALL for a mere 350 calories!
And their TEA!!!! Oh, it was so GOOD! Achi Berry or something like that!
We laughed and LAUGHED and had the very best time together!!
Poor Summer! We had to take her back to her office while Deanie and I partied on!
Where else would you go after lunch but to STARBUCKS??
Mocha Fraps!
Deanie and I did some online shopping on her Kindle.
I have GOT to get me an adult phone instead of this ancient flip phone - and I am so late to the game when it comes to Kindles and Ipads and what all!!!
Anyway, our niece is getting married in September so we browsed her registry right there in Starbucks!
Who KNEW shopping was so EASY???
Next up on our fun day was a visit to see the quads!
Harrison is still charming his Aunt Deanie!
And Trystan was showing off for her!
I love this picture of Kailey with her little foot stance!
Can you SEE how skinny my sister is getting??
She is a believer in the Weight Watchers point system.
Amber's Aunt Deanie has been there all through her life.
Amber had an early birthday party at her Aunt Deanie's house!
When Amber married, Aunt Deanie played an important role in all the showers, festivities, and rehearsals!
She was there the day the babies were born!
As soon as she knew it was D day - she threw on her clothes and drove straight down to Houston!
She stayed an extra day to celebrate with us......
and go to Ohh La La Bakery to fill the back of her car with cupcakes Amber and Mike had ordered for all the hospital staff!
Good times with Aunt Deanie!!!
It was a FUN day from start to finish!!
I didn't even do any WORK today!
Louis Dean was left home alone and there was little damage control!
He played outside and had his pond up and running.
Won't be long before I will be putting some shade loving plants around it!
Having FUN is an important part of our lives.
I work hard but I also have FUN! Every day.
Here is an entry from 'The Language of Letting Go' by Melody Beattie:
'Fun'
Have some fun - with life, with the day.
Life is not drudgery; that is an old belief. Let go of it. We are on an adventure, a journey. Events will come to pass that we cannot now fathom.
Replace heaviness and weariness of spirit with joy. Surround yourself with people and things that bring lightness of spirit.
Become sensitive to lightness of spirit.
The journey can be an exciting adventure. Let yourself enjoy it.
I must say, although you need to keep a tight watch on hubby that fountain and pond is sure looking nice! Sounds like a great day.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Linda! That lunch looks so good. Looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteLove that photo of Aunt Deanie with me at the hospital. She has definitely been there for it all!
ReplyDeletethat pond is going to be so fantastic when you've finished with it. Love the shape.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day,but that is not new when reading your blog, you always fill your day with happiness.
ReplyDeleteLove Love that salad on a hot summer day, here in St Louis area we still call it St Louis Bread Co, when they expanded nationwide they changed the name to Panera(learn something new everyday;))
LD did a great job with the pond, cant wait to see the plants I am sure they will all be beautiful:)
Thanks for Sharing:)
I saw a similar salad on facebook and have been wanting to make it. I can't wait to try it. It looks so good. Only 350 calories, huh? I really will have to get on this.
ReplyDeleteYour fountain is beautiful! LD did a great job.
You had a good day.
What a fun day, for all. Including LD, who is doing wonderfully with his pond!!!
ReplyDeleteYes Deanie is looking marvelous! Healthy, happy, and marvelous. Good for her.
Oh what an amazing lunch!!!!!!!!!
Wishing you a lovely Midsummer's Eve!!!
"Auntie"
Family plus fun ?!?
ReplyDeleteCan't get no better than that !!
xoxo
p.s. please Ma'm, tell Louis Dean- Love that pond !! I always wanted one but (and this is going to sound odd) I never wanted and "in-ground" one. His above ground idea is so clever and with the bricks surrounding it- well- it looks so cute !!
Thank you for reminding me of FUN in everyday life! I lve the passage at the end! I am trying to make my situation an adventure to look back on!
ReplyDeleteYour sister is a very pretty lady! I say as long as everyone else has all the new-fangled stuff, I don't have to. Just borrow theirs! =D I'm borrowing a GPS next.
ReplyDeleteI totally believe in your having fun idea! God wants us to be full of joy! We adore Panera, just ate there last week. Our closest is a half hour away, BUT they are building one here and it will be open next month!! I can see why you needed those Starbucks drinks to keep up with the quads!
ReplyDeletewhat a GREAT entry about having fun!! i wish it weren't so exhausting, i'm not sure i could keep up with you!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE panera, LOVE there salads....
