It's been a warm cozy day in my part of Texas today! The cold front from Canada arrived as we were sitting outside last night and into the wee first hour of this morning. The temps have continued to drop until we reach the 30's in the morning! Ah, I DO love Texas weather! Except the HEAT!

Since we stayed up so late last night - and since we CAN! - we slept IN this morning!
We were still having our 'morning' coffee at noon!
These tasty little cookies have less than 50 calories apiece!
I love Big Lots!
It was a lovely lazy day spent nearly entirely in the den by the fireplace AND in my nightgown and robe!
I love this 'Retired' life style!
Lucy tried to tuck her big dog body into this small cat bed!
Bless her heart! I need to get her a dog bed.
I tried to find little chores to do - other than reading blogs and playing word games on Facebook - in the cozy den. Sorting my denim squares filled the bill. I hope to have enough for two more quilts before I have to whack up some more denim!
Dinner tonight was pork chops, baked potatoes and cooked carrots.
I have been SO hungry for pork chops lately!
Down home country cooking!
Louis Dean went out on errands and picked up a couple of packages on his way home.
The potatoes were coated in Crisco and sprinkled with sea salt. YUM!!!
Carrots with a shot of nutmeg and brown sugar.
We added a salad and it was a great meal!
Summer was here for dinner and is spending the night!!
She is so CUTE and we LOVE spending time with her!
Does she not remind you of Trystan???
Summer made a stop to see the babies before coming over and she SO enjoyed that!
(Bet Amber and the quads did too!)
Plus when Summer came into the house tonight she gave me the BEST compliment!
She said, "Smells like HOME!"
She does to me!
Tonight we TRIED to watch a program on broadcast TV.......
NOT so easy to do!!
Can you SEE the antennae?
On TOP of the lampshade??
We have to jiggle this to tune in the different stations.
We lost some KEY sentences while TRYING to watch Elementary this evening.
We cried 'Uncle' and Summer helped me order cable and Internet.
The installers come on Saturday!
Hi Linda!
ReplyDeleteIt has been cozy weather here, also, as we had almost 8 inches of snow yesterday! It was sunny today and about half of it melted, but it was chilly.
Your dinner sounds delicious, and the quads are such adorable bundles of energy. I've been watching my grand daughter during the day, as my daughter has gone back to work full time and although I love it, I am exhausted by the end of the day. I don't know how you were able to take care of four babies all at once! God bless your energy!
I'm glad you and your daughter Summer (love her name!) liked my California reminiscence post!
We've been having beautiful warm weather here. Seems funny to think that TX is colder than PA.
ReplyDeleteI never noticed the similarities between Summer and Trystan, but now that you mention it...
Enjoy your cable. It is so much better than broadcast TV even if you do have to pay for it.
Purrrrrfect day!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete-chuckle- You broke down and ordered cable. -grin- Well, you tried it, without it. So now, you have made an informed decision. :-)))))
"Wet Blanket" coming here. -pout- but... Sure those little cookies have only-so-many-calories. But!!!!!! WHAT are they made out of?!?!?!?
"Auntie"
It sounds like it was the perfect day to cozy up! We turned cold, too, after reaching 70 on Tuesday! Wow, very strange for us!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
XO,
Jane
I am so enjoying this cold weather in Texas and hoping the summer won't be too hot. Looks like you were able to have both a relaxing and productive day.
ReplyDeleteNova Scotia definitely has that changeable weather too. Variety is the spice...
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed that cartoon - we are having an odd odd season too. Love the babies!! sandie
ReplyDeleteThings are certainly upside down on this continent today, as we had lovely sunny and warm weather while you were snuggled by your fire. Crazy!
