It rained today......a nice gentle quiet rain.
The rain arrived late this afternoon and if I hadn't looked outside to check on Lucy I would not have noticed.
Earlier in the afternoon I had a little nap in the guest room while the quads played - or napped!!
It was a good Monday over in Quadville!
The girls enjoy playing together!
Harrison loves this little doll his Aunt Summer gave us.
So does Logan!
He didn't understand when she began to drag it away from him!
We were home before dark!
This is the first year I have truly appreciated how it begins to stay light longer after the winter solstice.
I came in and immediately put on my paint clothes and worked on my Santas.
Louis Dean helped himself to a chicken salad sandwich and watched me paint.
Dinner tonight was chicken salad on pecan bread from Collin Street Bakery and old fashioned cooked tapioca pudding along with a glass of boxed Chardonnay wine. Add a lit candle and you have a lovely evening!
Even with our naps we are looking towards an early bedtime.
Funny how older people as well as the very young need more sleep than the average adult.
So we are doing a final sit outside before we retire for the night.
We talked about Louis Dean's favorite author......Laura Ingalls Wilder.
"Now is now. It can never be a long time ago."
That is food for thought!
Sounds like another great day Linda... Love the photo of LD with the babies

OMG Linda, the quads have growned so much, I am amazed! They look so darn cute and granps looks so satisfied holding two of his grands, such a sweet scene. How beautiful the pic where you see them playing..goodness! Have a great week.

I will get my comment in before John comes along to see how things were in Quadville today. It'll be the last thing he looks at on the computer before going to bed. I'm planning on pointing out how Kailey is sitting with her legs behind her like wings. How DO children do that?! We do look forward to our evening visits with you folks. Enjoy a good sleep and do it all over again tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteJohn let me know that she is perfectly balanced...only one leg back, one leg forward, and using her sister's forehead to balance herself by. LOL!
DeleteYou should have seen her this morning! She was crawling all over Trystan - climbing and kicking her way closer to the top of the crib! She has abs of STEEL!
DeleteSounds like a nice day in Quadville my friend! Those babies seem like they grow every time you post a picture. It's unreal how big they have gotten so fast. Shew, too bad we can't slow down time and keep them babies just a little longer isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHope you get some rest tonight. I'm not "older" and definitely not "younger" & trust me, I need a LOT of rest. I just don't usually get it because of two little ones needing something all the time :)
VERY wise quote......
ReplyDeleteWell now, you're right...following you from your comment at Auntie's...three hearts...how'd they get there? Cupid paying visits and leaving kisses or what?
ReplyDeleteThe three nappers - so cute. Hope Amber is recovered enough soon to give you guys a break. Take care.
ReplyDeleteOnce again beautiful pictures Linda. Was Ld napping as he held the babies? :):) He's the best g.pa. Nice that you and LD have such nice evenings together. Enjoy each other and never forget to kiss each other goodnight. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteRain. Glad for you to be able to enjoy it together.

You won't be able to contain those babies much longer. :-)
I love the picture the picture of LD and the kids.
