Walking the Dog AND the HUSBAND!!

We haven't left the RV Park today.

Unless you count this afternoon when I walked Louis Dean!
He THOUGHT we were out walking Lucy!
Actually I thought HE needed to get out and move a little bit.

The afternoon was beautiful.....and WARM!
It started chilly but didn't take long to turn OFF the small electric heater and turn ON the A/C!

This is what December looks like in front of our RV Park in Texas!
Not very wintry although the weather forecast is for COLD
(that means NEAR freezing temps) the day after Christmas!

As soon as we returned from our walk - Louis Dean had to take a nap!

I fixed me a glass of tea and sunk into the pages of this lovely issue of Country Homes from SCOTLAND!!
This arrived marked 'Royal Mail' from Linda at Occasional Scotland!
Thank you, Linda, and I have promised to share this with Amber!

I love all things Scotland and fondly remember the December we spent in Aberdeen with Amber and Mike in 2009. You can see my Facebook Album of Christmas in Scotland :here!

Along with the tea I snacked on one of my favorite treats!
I only ate ONE!!

Ritz Crackers with peanut butter and topped with melted butterscotch morsels!
Talk about GOOD!!!
I made up a plate full this morning - some to share and a few to EAT!

For dinner tonight we had this filling and tasty soup.
I thought hot SOUP would be good for Louis Dean.
My friend, Dawn, sends me the great publications from Publix which features some really good recipes!
I love my HEB but would trade even that for Publix!!
Alas, Dawn is in Florida and there are no Publix in Texas!

It is early and yet feels late.
I'm about ready to settle down with a book and then early to bed.
We are determined to go to church in the morning -
we've missed the last two weeks.

  1. Sometimes it is nice to stay home - wherever that may be.

  2. That poor boy really is under the allergies isn't he?! Is there room for an air purifier in your wee home? He did very well to take Lucy for a walk (especially when he was in charge of the scoop). Now those crackers with peanut butter and butterscotch on top look pretty impressive and dangerous to me. Enjoy that reading...must find my book and toodle off to bed. I sleep so much better after reading a bit.

  3. I'm trying to imagine the Ritz crackers like that. I'm going to give it a try. Just two Ritz, spread with peanut butter and then drizzled with melted butterscotch chips? Would that work? Thanks!

  4. Glad LD is feeling better. Allergies can be awful. I take an Allegra every day all year round to ward off all my allergies.

Enjoy your warm weather. It is COLD here. Down in the 20s. And windy! Which makes it feel colder. I'd rather have your weather.

  5. you remind me i need to make my hubby walk, he swims 45 minutes a day, but rarely walks... what a beautiful place to walk your hubby...and the soup and crackers would be perfect for us today.. we woke up to 38 and that is COLD for FL

  6. Glad you got LD out in the fresh air. Except, is it the fresh air, which triggers his asthma? -sigh- Well anyway, you knew what he needed.

We have to, don't we? We have to monitor our hubby and notice things, like a down-in-the-dumps mood or etc.? And do our magic, to change things around? -smile- Yes, we do!

Who sezzzzzzz that we 'Olden' gals, don't work magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :-)
