Rolling With the Punches.......

This was Amber last night! She is so excited to be able to EAT and keep it down!
I picked up Arby's Beef and Cheddar WITH Curly Fries AND an order of onion rings -
of which I admit to eating over HALF! We were stuffed!

Today we had lunch at The Olive Garden with her good friend and college room mate, Lisa.

Lisa is 26 weeks pregnant - Amber is 14 weeks and 1 day.
Plus Lisa is having ONE baby!
Amber is having FOUR!
They were so cute together!

We have had a good day!
Just having lunch out tired Amber so it was back home to rest.

Mike is putting in new Pergo flooring.......WITH the dogs at the window supervising!
This was a good reason for us to leave the house for awhile.
He had a couple of friends help him - all of them engineers so you know they are doing a bang up job!!

I went for a walk after we got back from lunch. It rained earlier and was dark and cloudy. By the time I walked the sun had come out and the clouds were scurrying away.
While I walked I was thinking about the events of the past year in Amber's life. First - she and Mike made the decision to start their family. Then pregnancy and miscarriage followed. Not once but twice. A life long problem solver, Amber found a doctor and after two surgical procedures to fix the problem - they were ready to try again. Praise God pregnancy came soon and not long after that the news that she was carrying quadruplets. The doctors think there are two sets of fraternal twins. Twins run in our family every other generation so twins would not have been a surprise. But TWO sets???

Plus this is a high risk pregnancy where she has basically been sick as a dog from the very beginning! AND she has continued to run her two businesses.....

She is one tough little lady that rolls with the punches!

She's in there now preparing for a craft show where she will feature her hand made custom jewelry designs.

If ANYONE can handle this quad pregnancy and being a mom to four at one time.....
Amber can!!
When I was pregnant with her the one prayer I prayed specifically - over and over -
was that God make her 'mighty in Spirit.'
And he has! I am sure everything is going EXACTLY according to HIS plan!

  1. I do believe that God has a plan for us and that he only gives us as much as we can handle. I'm sure that is why Amber will be fine with this multiple pregnancy. I used to tell my husband, before we ever started a family, that God better know better than to give me multiples! I'm too anxious for lots of little ones around at one time. He gave me 2 boys a whopping 7 yrs apart. How's that for planning?! Ha! Glad that y'all were able to get out and enjoy your day. Your daughter is such a strong woman. You definitely got your wish!

  4. Soooooo glad she is having some good-eating days.

Do the docs think this not-easy-to-eat-ness will eventually pass?

    Hugs to all of you...

And to LD, back home too, of course!

  7. Love the pictures of Amber and Lisa. Too cute. And of course the of you two is cute. Man just eating Arby's and not getting sick would be a feat even for me.
So glad she's feeling better and holding down the food.
