I Double Dog DARE You to Touch That Water!!

It doesn't take much to entertain me! Yesterday afternoon I was sitting here at my lap top - minding my own business and playing Scrabble with a sister blogger on Facebook. I was not paying any attention to the cats even after I HEARD them hissing at each other. Then I started watching them and they were hilarious!!!

Stand Off at the water bowl!!!

Neither one would allow the other to drink!

At least not for LONG!!! One little cat sip........

........and the paws were flying!!
(This went off for a good long time!)

Pretty feisty for two old cats!

July is Amber's 19 year old cat!
Converting from cat years to human years - she is NINETY-TWO!
She is in pretty good shape for a really OLD lady.
Amber gives her medicine twice a day for a thyroid condition.
She doesn't hear as well as she used to and can't see as well, either.
Although she could see the SECOND Snowball dipped toward the water bowl!

This is Snowball. She is Fourteen years old.
Converting that from CAT years to human years - makes her  Seventy-Two!
She is diabetic now and has insulin shots twice a day.
A year and a half ago she almost died.Amber and Mike were living in Scotland for a year and had to leave them with a caretaker.
She went from a fat 15 pounds down to 5!
She had a feeding tube and was in the vet hospital for a week before Louis Dean and I made a flying trip down to Alabama where they were staying to bring them home and nurse her back to health before Amber returned from Aberdeen!

These are two pretty amazing cats......my GRAND cats!
My elderly Grand cats!!

I can only hope I have as much personality when I am their age!

"Of all God's creatures, there is only one that cannot be made slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve the man, but it would deteriorate the cat."

  1. -giggles- Perhaps they were both having a *Bad Hair Day* at the same time. :-)

Mmmmmmm, is it time for 2 bowls for water? Or maybe they never do this, at least not on a regular basis. :-)

    Gentle hugs,

  7. This is great! Cat's really do have their own personalities. Those are two pretty old gals but still seem very spunky. We have a cat that is 12 & I thought she was an old lady!!!

  9. What a cute post! I adore these pics. They are hilarious! Good thing that you had your camera handy. I'm amazed at how old the oldest cat is. That's remarkable! Sounds like they have been getting excellent care. Otherwise, they wouldn't be still alive.
