I have a lot of critters in my house! And they ALL need attention.....especially the two footed one!
Then there is LUCY!! She is an excellent dog and we have had her for 3 1/2 years. She 'herds' me but LOVES Louis Dean.....although she only barks at HIM and then only if he is standing....or walking around! This drives us both crazy....actually all THREE of us crazy! Yesterday was especially difficult and I thought of finding a more peaceful home for her. It all worked out in the end with Louis Dean taking a more active role in calming Lucy. I think it is working. He holds the key to the situation. Lucy has survived heart worms and the treatment thereof.....and is now on monthly medication.
After Louis Dean, July is the oldest of the critters in my house! She actually belongs to Amber and will return home as soon as Amber HAS a home! Say a prayer, please, for their home buying adventure! It is NOT easy! They HAVE a home which they leased out when they lived in Scotland last year. Thinking it a simple thing to buy another and keep that one as a rental property AND having all the financing in place and then finding the perfect home......well, all THAT was simple enough! Closing the deal has been a long drawn out process which is still weighing in the balance! This all started in AUGUST! So needless to say, Amber would love to take her critters home as soon as possible! July is 18 years old and Amber misses her every day!
This is the fourth critter! Snowball. Although the vet gets confused and calls her 'Snowflake'....
She is diabetic and we have just now started her on insulin shots. The pharmacy named her 'Snowbell' when I had the RX filled last night! SO far I have given her two injections and the needle is so tiny she doesn't feel a thing! Never even flinched! Thank goodness! July has a thyroid problem so the pill dropper is what I use to get her medicine down her throat! Each pill must be cut into four pieces and she gets one each morning and night. Critters!!! How they work their way into your heart.....even the six footer on two feet!
They are each and every one so worth all the attention they require!
I have been studying the traits and dispositions of the "lower animals" (so called) and contrasting them with the traits and dispositions of man. I find the result humiliating to me.

This post is adorable! You are so funny. And so patient to put up with all that madness. Will be glad when I can ease the burden and take the cats home - less medication for you to keep track. Especially before YOU need medication to deal with all the critters! :) Love you mom!
ReplyDeleteIn spite of all the health problems, I can tell that you have a BIG heart for all of your critters! What a special lady you are!

Linda,
ReplyDeleteWe love our pets, don't we! I nursed our Daisy for two years. She had cancer and a tumor under her little arm. The vet had given her six months and she lived for two years. She is who the Bed and Breakfast is named after. She lost her battle with cancer, but what a fighter! Your a good Mommy :)
